As is being alluded to here, 2021 offers a huge opportunity in state to follow that model. Lander, Furst, and Kaufman would fit that mold perfectly.

Great start to the 2020 recruiting cycle getting two quality in state kids who are hard nosed and care deeply about IU basketball. Can't ask for much more than that. Finishing off with Garcia and/or Cross would be excellent. In season - I think we would all like to see the offense improve quite a bit from what was either stagnant or feed Romeo/Juwan one-on-one all day. Would also like to see more general player development. There's no reason a guy like Damezi shouldn't be a contributor off the bench in year 2. Green needs to play like senior guard. De'Ron needs to play like a healthy senior big man. Justin Smith needs to play like a reliable upperclassman on both ends. A lot of that work in the offseason is personal drive and growth but the coaching staff has a big part in making sure it translates to the basketball court.

Did the family move? If they moved, the IHSAA is full of crap. Let the kid play.

Really hoping Hunter is fully healthy and ready to go for this season. If so, that is a very competitive lineup. Also expecting/hoping to see some growth from Damezi and Race. Both had the toughness we desperately needed in limited minutes last year but the talent has to catch up.

Remember back to when you were an 18 year old. Do you want Mom and Dad dropping by the dorm for a visit unannounced because they only live 10 minutes away? There are more than just academic reasons to leave Bloomington for Stanford. Sometimes kids just want to get out of their home town. That said, I think as a top 100 player Leal is focused on basketball and will pick IU.

We could do this same exercise with Indiana during the Crean years and it would look about twice as bad (if not worse). I don't think the number of kids who have turned down a school over the last few recruiting cycles has an iota of predictive value when discussing an individual athlete who has shown serious interest.

A lot of their posts from the season and the early offseason were filled with comments like "win more games" so they maybe decided to slow down a bit.
