  1. I'm not worried about WR, Westbrook is ready to be the guy. In addition to Mitchell Paige, we have Ricky Jones who hasn't been involved much this season. We have Donovan Hale, Luke Timian, Isaac Griffin, and Marqui Hawkins ready to play. Camion Patrick can play WR. We also know CKW loves to play freshmen later in the season (see Westbrook last year). You have to think one of Taysir Mack, Kiante Enis, Jonah Morris or Phil Benker will get a shot at playing time. Let's just hope Feeney doesn't have any adverse after effects from the concussion. It sucks no IUFB to look forward to this weekend!!!
  2. Lots of winnable games on the schedule. In addition to Purdon't, Rutgers and Maryland, Northwestern and Penn State look very beatable this season.
  3. Good post, RBB89. Good to see the facts back up the observations. Yep, Lagow is doing just fine.

Btw, the Browne-Werdum fight was absolutely pathetic. First off, two guys with really bad bodies and it looked like fitness was a problem. Second, did Browne truly have such a low level of confidence in his ground game? He got Werdum down a few times but wouldn't even try to pounce and take advantage. Not even later in the fight when he needed to. Werdum tried to mock him by staying on the ground but that was an embarrassment to the UFC IMO because Werdum looked super unathletic trying to get up on his own. I'm glad the crowd booed them out of the arena. Third, Joe Rogan is right, how is a dislocated finger any different than any other sort of injury that wouldn't stop a fight? Browne got his time stoppage because Copeland (btw, is the UFC going to drug test this guy?) wasn't sure what happened, but that won't be looked back upon in a good way. Finally, the best action was after the fight when the two camps got into it. The UFC should have let them fight because the crowd paid money to see a true stinker for the real fight. Miocic is an absolute beast. And in comparison to the fight before he put on an absolute show. That arena was lit for their hometown hero![emoji91] I would love to see Miocic get a chance to avenge his loss to Dos Santos.

A lot of commentators predicted Punk would try to rush Gall from the start. Maybe get lucky with a punch and knock Gall out, or somehow slip behind him and get a choke out. Otherwise if he tries to stand up with him, Gall likely takes Punk down and we see the result we saw anyways. Might as well take the risk and rush. Props to Punk, he worked his ass off and got to live out a dream. Took a lot of courage to step in the Octagon like he did. As much as Punk got dominated, he lasted longer than Gall's last opponent who was submitted in 45 seconds.
  6. I agree with Lucel and Crean'sTheMan, some of the criticism of Lagow isn't fair. Yes, his awareness was off at times. But the conservative play calling led to many third and long situations. I think we all forget that Sudfeld had accuracy problems and at times went through cold streaks. At the same time it's hard to fault the play calling. We have the best offensive line in the B1G, our defense is playing tough, we should be able to run over a G5 team no problem at all. Take away the blocked punt TD and this game looks much better for our play calling. Although, it is concerning because not staying aggressive in the fourth quarter is a common criticism of CKW's play calling. The bye week will help. Lagow will get better with experience. And honestly, I expect the same game plan versus Wake Forest in two weeks. We will run the ball and slowly open up the playbook. Wake has an anemic offense, we shouldn't need to do anything too fancy to beat them.
  7. Cobbs is a huge loss but we have lots of depth. We'll survive. Need to get Ricky Jones involved in the offense! Maybe Camion Patrick moves back to WR? Hopefully Feeney returns after the bye.
  8. Take away the blocked punt and this was an excellent game.
  9. I think your dejavu is from the Rutgers game, where they recovered a blocked punt for a TD to get back in the game. Defense has held up so far, offensive play calling has been extremely conservative and hasn't helped us with any scoring. We can blame Lagow for being indecisive but we can't keep putting him in third and long situations and expect him to succeed.

Cool recruiting commentary on Coach Allen's son. Going to be a huge get for us. EDIT: wrong thread[emoji13]
  11. Gotta have better awareness than that.
  12. No need to worry just yet. CKW still has the blinders on with Lagow. We are playing to our strengths with our offensive line. Against a G5 team, no reason we should be able to run all over them. Come conference play the playbook will be opened up.
  13. Listening to the game on radio, can't wait to see the video replay on the Westbrook catch. The radio announcers were positive Lagow overthrew Westbrook.

Lamar Jackson for Louisville is putting up Madden like stats. Only the first half and look what he's done! Louisville has a brutal schedule, but I'm really looking forward to Lamar Jackson vs. Greg Ward of Houston. Houston should be undefeated then as well.
  15. Will be a good test for our run defense. Ball State ran all over GSU. Both teams will want to assert their run game.

Ole Miss pulled a UK last night with a major choke job. Alabama is going to run that division then blow out FL/TN in the SEC Championship. Of course, ESPN will hype it up as FL/TN actually having a chance. The "SEC beating each other up in conference play" is code for "we all get beat up by Alabama".
  17. Anyone heard anything about how Mike Neu is doing at Ball State? Did he change the offense? I know Riley Neal is a very talented QB. Being the former QB coach of the Saints, the unknown of Neu scares me, especially someone of his credentials working with a talent like Neal. This will be our most difficult out of conference game.

My problem with ND is the sense of elitism and near consistent level of hypocriticalness. Obviously not from everyone or all encompassing, but just from my observations. For example: bragging how good they in football based on their history, yet no championships in nearly 30 years. I hate the "we're a National School" or the "we're above being a Midwest, Big 10 school" attitude. Further, I can't stand how their fans claim football "independence" and wear it like a badge of honor. Their president comes out and takes a moral high road stating if the NCAA pays players ND will go D-3 like Carnegie Mellon. Yet, the school has sold out to the ACC to keep up revenue wise and is only independent by a mere technicality. Then they go on the invest $500M in their football stadium. They aren't any morally superior than any other top program. I've heard even of bragging about being a Marianite school looking down on Franciscan, Dominican and Jesuit Catholic schools (I'm Catholic and don't get this). History is great and has its place in a program's ranking and prestige, but it's not an excuse for claiming elitism today. Especially when your last championship was before many of your fans were born, much less a bulk of your championships coming before the advent of the forward pass. Finally, apologies to the knowledgable ND fans, the majority are legitimate fans I'm sure, but the fan base does have a lot of front running fans, like the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys, who have never even been to South Bend. Probably couldn't point it out on a map.

    Stephen Houston

As a Ravens fan I love to hear this! Justin Forsett got cut. I am not thrilled about Javorius Allen or Lorenzo Taliaferro (currently on the PUP). Currently Terrance West and Allen are the only healthy backs on the Ravens active roster. There could be a future opportunity for Houston, especially if he can play special teams.
  21. Coach Allen's kid definitely seems like a leader. Love how he's trying to recruit Florida guys to IU.
