From talking to the UNC grads in my office, Williams is not that loved in Chapel Hill. You can bet that UNC will pony up the cash for Billy the Kid.

He is only 49, so he still has a lot of time left and surely he wants to coach at a basketball school. He could win a dozen NCs at Florida, but the fanbase will not care unless it is football. Make him a good offer and all he can do is say no.

Completely agree with this. I also live in SEC country and any time that I try to talk to Florida grads in my office about hoops, they can't name the coach or anyone on the team and they look at me like I have three heads.

Turnovers and FTs won that game.  Got to play better D...get those hands moving for crying out loud!

  Starting positions are much like respect...they must be earned...not given.    Plus, it sends a bad message to the others. 

I can see Troy starting simply because we need more height in the lineup.   Can't wait for the game.  Go Hoosiers!

Match Day 4. If form holds, who gets upset today...my vote, France. Nonetheless, it is going to be another full day of great action. In my opinion, only March Madness beats the WC as the best sporting event.

1st full day of action...it is about to get interesting.  Spain v Netherlands today, Italy v England tomorrow and then the US on Monday.  Can't wait. 

Please...for the love of the game...stop with the instant replay/umpire review. It is killing the game. I can't for the life of me understand the fascination with it. Over 162 games, it all evens out anyway. Beside, other than that crap in-field fly rule call a few years back in the Braves-Cards wild card game and the almost perfect game by that Tigers pitcher a few years back, most of the missed calls are forgotten. Do the fans a solid and get rid of it.

Crean has got to lock down the best in-state recruits. This only helps with future recruits (assuming that the team is doing well) and with the fan base in Indiana as well as those of us from Indiana that live else where. I can't even imagine how good this past team would have been with Dawson, Irvin and Harris. For the life of me I can't understand why Crean did not lock down Bluiett.

While I agree with a lot of the poster, in that Crean should not stop recruting 5* big men, as I see it, at this point, what the program really needs more than anything else is stability.  We need a majority of the team staying 4 years (a la Wisconsin), and not all of the turnover that has been occuring.  The turnover just creates an unstable environment.  Those 4 years players would create a "backbone" so that if/when Crean did land a NV or a one-and-done type player, there would still be a nucleus there and players would be able to step in.      I love the players that IU has, and I know that I am going to get some flak for this comment, but at this point, I would rather have a Wisconsin-type team than the circus show that IU has going on right now. 

Can those dumb "First Four" 1st round games be addresed next and get this field back to 64?

Yes...I know that...nevermind...not going to expalin how that would work.

I guess that this just makes little sense to me. Maybe the college games just now clicked for him. Not all freshmen are going to make an immediate impact. Just because a player doesn't play and make an immediate impact is not a reason to transfer. Otherwise it would be an even more crazy merry-go-round during the off-season. JMO.

P.S. Freshmen suck and should be required to sit out a year.

What is sad is that this is what I have come to expect from IU in the BTT...the early exit.
