IU vs. Suckeyes pre-game thread
Scooter D replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Also, what chump was in charge of developing the schedule? We saw O$U 15 days ago. How about playing half the schedule before playing anyone again? Please contract the confernce so that we get to play each team twice...this crap is just dumb. -
The "flamethrower" will provide the heat!

IU vs. Suckeyes pre-game thread

I am more nervous for this game then the last. For the Maryland game, I was jacked up and expecting it to go down to the wire and go either way. This game has too many possibilities. -
Tidbit on MD's forum...turned Top10 Hated Teams
Scooter D replied to DawgBawls's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
1. UK (before Calamari and while Keady was coaching, it would have been Purdue) 2. Purdue 3. Illinois 4. O$U 5. Michigan As for the rest of the Big 10, I either don't really care about (Minny, Neb, NW, Iowa (although I do like Fran), Penn St., Rutgers)or I like the watch them (Wisc, I know that I will probably catch grief for that one, but I am sorry, I am a hoops fan and Bo Ryan teams play good hard fundamental ball; and Mich. St, love Izzo and his teams). -
Would you be satisfied with this finish?

Lose to just about any other team in the nation (save purdue) in the sweet 16 and I would be good with that result. -
Wow...didn't even realize that...talk about perspective.
-
Oh...OK...now I think I am up to speed. Thanks.
-
Agreed...not to put a damper on the events of last night, but there is still a lot of season left. 12 games left in the Big 10...a lot can happen...either way.

#23 IU defeats #13 Maryland 89-70 post game thread

This sums it up...when I was a kid growing up in Indiana, I had a hoop outside of my house (as most did) and there was a street light next to the hoop. On the weekends, there was always a game going, people would come, people would go, but the game went on until everyone had to go home. It would go from 5 on 5, to 3 on 3, to horse and 21, and back. Week days after school, we would play until dinner and then after. We played in the rain, in the heat, in the cold...I can't tell you how many times I was supposed to shovel the snow off the drive way, but I started with hoops court. If you wanted to find me, I was outside shooting hoops. I painted regulation lines on the street so that I could practice FT's and 3-pointers. And the day after my last varsity game my senior year when we were put out of sectionals (when it was still a single tournament), I was still out there shooting hoops. -
Have i missed something...the guy is just injured, right? If he is still a member of the team, he should absolutely be in the locker room. Did anyone else watch the movie Friday Night Lights (yeah, I know that it is a football movie, in Texas, but it still applies)? The scene in the locker room at halftime of the state finals when coach tells his team to play for Boobie Miles...that is why he should be in the locker room.

To really understand, you will need to make that journey and experience the Hall in all of its glory. -
Agreed...this might have been the best team offensive performance of the Tom Crean era.
-
For one...I won't call you crazy...I think that you hit it on the head. Hanner is an "athlete", while CH is a basketball player. CH knows how to play defense, he can shoot, is fundamentally sound, he hustles...frankly he is the epitome of Indiana basketball.
-
Went with CH. The way that he started and the hustle and heart that he gave stole the show. I expect YF and JBJ to put together those types of performance, but I did not expect that from CH. Outstanding performance.

So is there an update on Hartman...
Scooter D replied to DawgBawls's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
FYI...in the future, please pick a better topic heading...when I saw this yesterday, I thought that he had picked up an injury. -
You stick with what works until it doesn't anymore...hopefully we can ride this train for a long while. Plus you have got to love CH...he is an Indiana kid and he is literally living the dream.

What you have to understand, especially for those of us from Indiana, is that IU basketball is our religion and Assembly Hall is our church. -

I did not see that coming. -
The next road game is always the toughest...especially in the Big 10. Never underestimate any opponent.

IU vs MD Pre-Game Thread
Scooter D replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Agreed. This team is leaps ahead of past teams mentally...now if they can develop a killer instinct and learn to finish teams off when they are ahead double digits, they will be a really tough team. -

I think that this game will be very telling as to where this team is, especially mentally. -

It definately seems like the game has slowed down for TW. He plays much more under control and if he can develop an outide jumper, he will be just as dangerous as VO was. Outstanding win today boys. -
Supposed I should have made that more clear. As the other poster noted, it is a work of fiction, but with all of the same actors over the 12 year span. This is a work of dedication to a craft.

Saw a great film while on my trip back to the states, Boyhood. It was shot over a 12 year period, chronicalling the life of a boy. Absolutely great stuff.

Saw this last night...no words, other than calipari is a coward.
