Cig wouldn't guarantee him a starting spot so it is a non-starter. Only way I could see it happening (on our side) is if we get Mendoza and TJ bolts such that he is brought in as a backup. However, he doesn't want to be a back-up so not going to happen. -

(2025 Transfer) WR Miami (OH) - Javon Tracy

Hope so. Definitely has a ton of interest from big time programs. Know for sure or just optimistic? -

Hope we get him. He would be in the same class as TJ so it would be interesting to see how that plays out given the loser of the competition could be facing the thought of never being a starter. Wonder if his brother being on the team helps or hurts. It could help being a connection but hurt if he doesn't want to push his younger brother farther down the depth chart -

But yet used logical reasoning for his opinion. Apparently opinions aren't allowed unless they are the same as your opinion? -

It all depends on how well we can replace our players that leave. If our team is just as good next year, then 10 wins is hardly farfetched. Our schedule is only slightly more difficult next year as we pretty much just switch out Michigan and OSU for Oregon and Penn State as our hard games. This isn't playing in the Big Ten East anymore. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)
Hurryin' Hoosiers replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I don't see Cigs going after a back-up profile (unless he has failed at landing every player that is better). He will go after the best he can get and tell them to compete for playing time. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)

true but starting next year we can also pay players directly in addition to NIL. And the NIL amount could be divided among multiple years even if not a contract. -

Even if that 2.5 million was a contract for multiple years and other big time recruits would be swayed by a 5 star QB commitment? -
Trent Sisley is an Outstanding Hoosier and (2025) SG - to UConn Thread
Hurryin' Hoosiers replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Some schools would have offered the same amount...not all could have afforded the same amount either because their NIL isn't as good or they had already spent it elsewhere. I'm sure he liked Indiana well enough but us fans like Indiana without getting paid. My point (that's getting lost in the back and forth) is that it was a bad attempt at fan shaming. -

you said people overrated the factor in 95% of the cases. Not sure how to read that other than saying it's not much of a factor. -

I think that is a major underestimation of the power of NIL in decisions. It's not the only factor and for some it may not be the top factor, but it is a factor for most transfers at the P5 level. -

Possibly. I'm sure there were likely other reasons for them to choose IU other than just money. I'm just pointing out that it isn't really a good example to use for fan shaming. -

(2025) S Byron Baldwin BACK to Indiana

Even HS recruits aren't likely to stay 4 years so a transfer with college experience that still has 2-3 years left of eligibility looks pretty good. I think the days are gone that you recruit someone on the hopes that they develop into a contributor as an upperclassman because there is a decent chance they won't be here that long. Right now we just have Leal, Galloway, Reneau and Mgbako as players that came here out of HS. Reneau may or may not stay 4 years. Mgbako is probably not going to be here that long. I agree with your comment that we should look for the best 1 or 2 HS players each year and then fill up on more experienced transfers.
