  Yeah Iowa went from a serious Big Ten title contender and surefire NCAA team to being in a play-in game.  And that was with a veteran roster. 

This past weekend rates pretty high on the worst sports weekend list for me right now.  Pacers, Blackhawks, IU baseball...ahhhhhh.

Nice.  I bought a pair of those bad boys a couple years ago.  I think I should be allowed to wear them to work. 

  When I was in school (RMK era 1994-1999) I heard some of the guys only showed up for tests/quizzes...so I'm guessing it was more about making sure they were at class on the necessary days.  Heck I had a class with Larry Richardson and he definitely did not show up for every session. 

  I don't think the latter even needs to be stated.  I don't think this thread was started to somehow obscure Crean's primary purpose here. 

I think we will take this series.  It is our time. 

  The options are so limited that if Hanner can't earn the most minutes in that spot, we are in big trouble.  I'm sure April get some run too but Hanner needs to become a consistent part of the rotation now.  Unless Peter Jurkin suddenly becomes a serviceable player.  Otherwise I see Hanner first, April second and otherwise just some smaller lineups in general that don't involve either player.

  I don't think Crean even identifies a true center in his scheme.  I think we will play a bit smaller with some combination of 5 guards & forwards most of the time.  It isn't like there are beast centers out there anymore.  The bigger concern is forward match-ups.  Skilled power forwards are in a larger supply than skilled centers.  Devin is under-sized either way.  He might have a bit of AJ Moye in him.  A lot hinges on how much Hanner can progress. 

  What do you mean by ruler?  Do you mean who is going to be the leader?  Or who is going to be the measuring stick of our success?  Maybe those two questions are intertwined in a certain way but I'd say it all comes down to how much the returning players can improve and develop.  The 2012 and 2013 kids need to make significant strides forward.  We can't put ourselves in a position of needing the 2014 kids to blow up right away.  Look at what happened last year, the 2012 kids were disappointing overall and we had to lean on the 2013 class way too much. 

I just wish we would have attempted to recruit Trey Lyles.  Man, if only Crean had lobbed a phone call or visit his way at the very least.  Can't believe we totally did not even attempt to recruit that kid. 

I could definitely see April getting an opportunity to get some minutes so I hope he works hard this summer and is ready for it!

Don't really care.  Not rooting against the kid but I have no feelings otherwise.  Victor and Cody were part of a rebirth of IU basketball, even if it was temporary. 

UK fans talked nonstop crap about Calipari until he became their coach.
