Worst thing we could do is let them back into this game after being up 12. Man oh man. -

Honestly I'm not even sure how Groce is really that much of an upgrade over Weber right now. Granted, I wish Bruce had been given a lifetime contract. But the muppet isn't doing anything all that incredible in terms of recruiting or coaching right now that I would be like whoa, look out! -

The board I'm reading, all they are doing is blaming the refs for everything. -

Understood but if we lost to Wisconsin I don't believe we would have come out so flat against Northwestern. I still think we would be sitting here with the same W/L. -

One thing I've always made a rule for myself, I will be nasty and call our team every name in the book during a game (players and coaches included) but that all stays in my living room. What I choose to share online, as long as I am sufficiently sober (lol) I try to keep it on an even keel. And admittedly I've failed at that task in the past on various boards. But still...if I really want to bitch about something I tend to contain it to texts to my buddies lol. I don't need to post vitriol on an online message board with strangers to vent. Just how I roll I guess. -

Illinois is a bad team. If we had rightly beaten them in Champaign, they would be toiling with Nebraska and Penn State for the glory of 12th place in the Big Ten. They can't hit the broad side of a barn. Yet we are only up two points at halftime. I am feeling nervous about this one. Noah only has one field goal. Get him the ball. Feed the beast! Illinois has NOBODY that can guard him. We found that out in the first game. We need to get him the ball otherwise this game is going to be way too interesting down the stretch. -

Can I admit I'm a bit nervous about this one given that we lost to Northwestern at home? I mean, I think we will beat Illinois but...I hope we come out strong and settle MY nerves down! -
Pre-Season Thoughts Compared To Now Thoughts
bronkonagurski replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That is a great point and something I did not even think about before. -
Looking at it right now, I think we get 6 team in the tournament. For a 7th team to sneak in, that team will need to finish the season strongly and/or make a deep B1G tourney push. There are so many teams bunched together in the middle of the league right now I think it definitely gives an outside observer the notion that the league might not be as strong this season.

What are your feelings on Coach Crean?
bronkonagurski replied to KingDaddy40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Overall I think he is a decent coach. I'm a firmly middle ground type of guy in my opinion of CTC. I do feel a bit anxious about our immediate future though. The 2012 class has mostly been a bust and THAT I think is the single biggest problem confronting the current team. Also looking at the 2013 class, Fischer is already gone obviously. Hartman and Davis have been disappointing. If the 2012 and 2013 classes would live up to expectations overall, we would be in great shape but as it stands, not so much. And if Noah goes pro after one season, man...just a lot of uncertainty in my mind as to when we will have our next team that is capable of a Final Four run. If Noah returns, I think it is possible to be that kind of team next season. I think adding shooters next season will help our offensive flow a lot. -

Indiana's Remaining Schedule
bronkonagurski replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We aren't consistent enough to win two consecutive conference games right now, let alone three in a row. I'm sure we will be competitive in many of these remaining games but can we learn to close the games out? I do think we will beat Illinois next. At Nebraska is going to be a tough one. Those guys are really tough customers at home, beating Ohio State and should have beaten Michigan if they didn't miss a tip in at the end. -

IU vs Northwestern Post-Game Thread
bronkonagurski replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Possibly but I just don't recall being impressed with the way Tommy's teams at U of M played. Snyder had some early success and he also had some NCAA heat on him shortly thereafter from what I recall. Dude pretty much abandoned the college scene to be a career NBA assistant after that. So I have a hard time saying he was a success as a college coach. The main point of what I posted was that I am impressed by Collins so far. Whether others agree on the overall body of work of Coach K assistants, that wasn't the focal point of my post. Agree to disagree I guess? -

Amaker was a failure at Michigan. He has done a nice job at Harvard, good for him. Just shows me that he was in over his head at a bigger program. Quinn Snyder says hello. Brey is just kind of whatever. Notre Dame is never a serious threat to do anything. Jeff Capel had a good year or two with Blake Griffin then bombed and had to return to Coach K's nest at Duke. Just not that impressed by the Coach K coaching tree. But like I said, I think Collins will do very well. -

And to think, the moment Daniel Moore graduated I was thinking our days of having walk-on players play meaningful minutes was behind us...smh.
