(2014) C Jeremiah April to IU
bronkonagurski replied to djsalway's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
April is a magic month (born 4/12) so this signing is bronko-approved based on name alone. -
Been hearing this has been going on with Vonleh
bronkonagurski replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't see that happening in a public forum though. I agree with Doc Libby that Noah commenting on any of this is probably going to be discouraged. Commenting on it could be looked at as lending credence to it. -

Overall I do tend to believe these rumors about Vonleh have likely been exaggerated. What I posted earlier was based on the hypothetical assumption that he actually has been bashing the program. As of the current moment, I don't have any ill feelings towards the kid and I wish him the best. -
Tom Crean piss and moan thread with a little sunshine (lol)

Nah. We need the same people taking a dump on any attempt at optimism just to "keep it real" apparently. -

I'm sorry but it all just comes across to me as extreme selfishness on the part of Vonleh IF these rumors are true. I don't care who contacted who first. He plays a grand total of one season for CTC as an 18 year old. While I certainly agree we could have utilized him more, he still had an outstanding season. His draft value is very high. No, I don't think it is okay for him to BASH the program. How many players absolutely get along with and agree with their coaches on every point after one season? I don't think he has earned the right to bash anyone or anything based on one season at IU. Of course my opinion doesn't matter and he can do so but for him to project whatever issues he has into discouraging other guys from going to IU...it is weak sauce to me. And quite frankly it just makes me sour on the idea of recruiting any more one-and-done types from outside the state. This kind of drama isn't worth the hype of having a kid for one year. -

Looking forward to a nice, long off-season of hyperbolic overreactions to anything and everything! Strap in tight folks! -

Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season
bronkonagurski replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Hopefully more press outlets predict such a dire 2014-15 forecast. Our kids can use it as extra fuel to prove work hard and prove everyone wrong. I'm still excited for next season, I will never lose my preseason buzz. -
(2014) SF Josh Cunningham to Bradley
bronkonagurski replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Yeah I remember quite a bit of optimism about Pinson up until the moment he made his decision. -
And if he played tight it could have just as easily resulted in an "and-1" play when Harrison blew by him...damned if you do, damned if you don't. The shot that the Harrison kid made tonight was by no means a gimme. And Wisconsin still had ample time to respond. I don't think Gasser expected him to shoot the ball from where he was standing.
-
It is extremely disconcerting to me as well.
-
I would have given him that much room because I'm too slow to stop the drive. :-P
-
I hear ya but Michigan is a much more practical example compared to UK.
-
The shot tonight, Harrison was practically standing out of bounds. Much further away from the basket compared to that Michigan shot.
-
We are never going to recruit a class of freshmen that remotely compares to what Cal brings in. That just makes balancing classes that much more important for us. Odds on Drake handing out hundred dollar bills as soon as the cameras switched away from the pUKe locker-room?
-
Greg Anthony may as well be dressed head-to-toe in UK gear the way he calls these games.

(2014) SF Josh Cunningham to Bradley
bronkonagurski replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
In fairness, we didn't have 3 open scholarships until March. Prior to that, we had a full roster with the current 2014 kids in the fold. Suddenly we are jumping into the fray on kids that we likely did not recruit very heavily, if at all during the entire process. Having said that, sure I'd like to think throwing our name into the hat would overwhelm the recruiting efforts of a South Carolina or Georgia. I don't know what to make of it yet. It isn't like we are missing on huge talents at this stage but certainly the larger importance is in filling out the roster again after the departures. In the final analysis we certainly could have done a lot better with the 2014 class (and bear in mind I'm perfectly happy with JB2 and Rojo) but the 2014 class, in particular the Indiana kids, has been a bit of a strange bird. -

Me too. I'm past all the doom & gloom thoughts for now. Definitely looking forward to seeing how the team shapes up for next season. Somehow I think we will get back on track and improve quite a bit as a team. -

Alabama didn't win anything in 1994. They won in 1992 under Gene Stallings. -

OT: When Looking to Get Promoted...
bronkonagurski replied to LIHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There are some things you can get away with. You can dress up past experience to a certain degree. But when it comes to actual degrees and things like that, yeah that does not turn out well.
