Just remember, if it lasts more than four hours, you should consult your doctor. Or I suppose there are cheaper alternatives out there.

    (2016) C Thon Maker

Wow, what a demented load of sh*t that I walked in to here this morning; your mother and I can't leave you kids alone for a second! :D Seriously, I'm not sure that I've ever seen such a confluence of poor grammar, disjointed thought, and immaturity wrapped up in a single entity, in all my life.   Dalton, would you mind dispensing the Zoloft please?

Yogi Leaning towards leaving per multiple sources

Relative to Yogi's future, I don't think it matters if he stays or if he goes; imo, he's just not an NBA caliber PG. Crucify me if you will, but he isn't big enough, to on a nightly basis, over an 80 game schedule, go up against 6'7' guards. Perhaps the absence of defense in the NBA will allow him to get his shot off, but I doubt it. More likely, he'll get a lot those shots blocked, a lot of his drives to the basket, unceremoniously thwarted, and a lot of his speed worn off by the midway point to any season. If he goes, I wish him all the best, and hope he proves me wrong.

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

It just so happens that my second cousin, (twice removed), works as a carpet cleaning technician in Rochester, NY. Actually, Ignatius or “Iggy” (as he’s called at family reunions), owns a Bissell B00007 turbo powered steam extraction cleaner and goes door to door asking to clean your carpet. He's a budding entrepreneur in the carpet cleaning industry, with business cards and everything. He's got a lot to learn about marketing though, as his company's motto of "For $50, we'll suck anything" while reflective of the power of his extraction equipment, might be misconstrued in some circles; but I digress.  As it turns out, he happened to be in the living room of Thomas Bryant, (working on a particularly difficult animal stain), when Tom Crean walked in. Being very clever, if not very good at marketing, he jotted down a brief transcript of their recent conversation.   TB: Hey coach, howya doin’ man? CTC: Ah man, I’m doin’ fine, doin’ fine. Just happened to be in the neighborhood and thought I’d drop by TB: Just happened to be in Rochester?! CTC: Yeah, well, um., well, how’s the family? TB: You mean my mom? CTC: Yeah, how’s your mom? TB: Oh, she’s good. Still wishes I’d gone to Syracuse, but you know. CTC: Well, we’ll try to make her proud of your having chosen IU instead. And you have chosen IU. Haven’t you? TB: Huh? Of course I have. I’m pumped man; I mean coach CTC: *Laughs*, Yeah, I know you have. I was just kiddin’. TB: *Laughs*, CTC: You’re such a good player, and a great prospect for us, and I can’t tell you how much I’ve been thinking about you. I mean, I’ve been thinking about you a lot, my man! TB: Right, okay. whatever CTC: I know you may find that some coaches still want to bother you, recruit you, and slobber over you like some love sick bull, but at IU, we’re not like that. Because, well, It’s Indiana. TB: Yeah, I guess. CTC: And if someone, say, like John Calipari, were to show up, trying to pitch his woo your way, I know you’d see through his cheap ass attempts, wouldn’t you? TB: Of course, coach, like I said, I’m coming to IU. CTC: Oh, good. I mean, yes, I’m sure you would. TB: Well coach, is there something I can get you to drink? CTC: No Thomas, I’ve got to be running for now, but just wanted to say “Hi”, and let you know that I can’t wait to see you in candy stripes TB: That’ll be a lot of fun coach. So where are you going now?   CTC: Oh, I’ve got to catch a flight to Ohio. I’m checking out a point guard who’s at a junior college. TB: Oh, needing some depth behind Yogi? CTC: Uh, yeah, that’s right, Thomas. Need some Depth.   By the way, Iggy told me to say that the nick in Thomas Bryant’s coffee table was already there.

What's Your Favorite Bob Knight Quote?

As a wonderful dig at people like Calipari and others who cheat:   "If my primary purpose here at Indiana is to go out and win ballgames, I can probably do that as well as anybody can. I would just cheat, get some money from a lot of people around Indianapolis who want to run the operation that way, and just go out and get the best basketball players I can. Then we'd beat everybody."

YOGI--You Stayed! Now Lead Us To Glory!

https://twitter.com/MarnOnTheMoon/status/588762588722376706     "It is with tremendous pride and heartfelt joy that Mr. and Mrs Crean of Yipsilani, MI., and Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell of Indianapolis, IN, announce the impending nuptials or their children, Tom Crean and Yogi Kevin Ferrell. Tom is a 1989 graduate of Central Michigan, having lettered in track, swimming and Lacrosse. He currently holds the position of head basketball coach at Indiana University, and hopes to one day devise a legitimate defense and understand the intricacies of a two three zone. Mr. Ferrell is currently enrolled at Indiana University, majoring in business and Lambada studies. He also plays basketball for the Hoosiers, and is hopeful of one day playing in the NBA, though he readily admits that getting married may hamper his position in the upcoming NBA draft. The happy couple plan to call Bloomington their home, and are currently looking for local bakers to help with arrangements.

OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season

If I'm Yogi, and I'm contemplating a jump to the pros, I've got to ask the following:   1.) Given what I've accomplished this year, will returning to IU have an appreciable impact on my position in next year's draft? 2.) If I return and get seriously hurt, how will that impact my chances at the next level? 3.) Will the addition of Thomas Bryant make us more likely to win a championship than when Zeller or Vonleh were here? 4.) Will coach Crean learn how to, you know, "coach", and/or improve his in-game adjustments before next season? 5.) If I come back and he hasn't improved, how will hitting him over the head with a mop bucket affect my position in next year's draft? 6.) If it adversely affects it, how badly? 7.) Are mop buckets easy to come by? 8.) Would stealing one from Martha adversely affect my draft position? 9.) I could sure use a gin and tonic right now, but mom will surely beat my ass if I do. 10) How will getting my ass beat by my mother affect my position in this year's draft?

YOGI--You Stayed! Now Lead Us To Glory!

Yogi needs to do what's best for Yogi.   One has a chance at winning it all if one has great talent and great coaching, (Duke 2015, or any of IU's championships under Knight) OR Good coaching and optimum talent, (Kentucky 2012) OR Great coaching and only above average talent, (Any MSU team under Izzo) OR Good coaching and a tight, senior laden team with marginal talent, (Florida in 2007).   BUT, no matter what level of talent a team may possess, be it Kentucky's NBA level, or that found at Wichita State, one has exactly zero chance of winning it all with below average coaching, and that is what we all have to keep in mind. Yogi staying another season won't make Crean a better coach. Getting Thomas Bryant and possibly landing Thon Maker is great, but do any of us really believe that we'd make a run through the NCAA tournament without first having to come up against the likes of Izzo, Calipari, Krzyzewski, Donavan, Boeheim, Self, or half a dozen other "good, very good, or great coaches"? Not likely, and I don't like our chances in any of those scenarios. Talent will only take us so far, (sweet sixteen), but eventually, as everyone is funneled to the center of the bracket, you have to have someone on the sidelines who can out maneuver and out coach the other team, and I just don't see it with Crean.

    (2016) C Thon Maker

Our coach is every bit as much a project, with a long, long way to to too. Perhaps if Thon comes to IU and helps us get banner #6, the resulting euphoria will help us to again don rose colored glasses when assessing Crean's coaching ability. Hope does tend to spring eternal in Fred Glass' world. If on the other hand, Thon comes to IU and things remain much the same, isn't it conceivable, (despite Fred's delusions) that Crean's tenure here will be short circuited? Try to stay positive, as I do.

Possible Reason For The 2 Year Slide--The Failed Movement

As many of you know, I am not a big Tom Crean fan. I don't have anything personal against the man; I'm sure he's a nice guy, good father, devoted husband. I don't like his personality, as it relates or shows itself on the court or in post game pressers but that's just my opinion. I'm sure he wouldn't like me either.   Whether we talk about "The Movement" or any other recruiting class he's brought in, the success of failure of it must rest on his shoulders. You can talk all you want about how the players need to do this or do that, but if you've recruited players who're questionable in their work habits, questionable in their off the court judgement, marginal in talent or a poor fit for your system, that fault is yours, not theirs. "The Movement" may be the most visible example of Tom Crean's poor judgement, but it really doesn't stop there. Each year, there are transfers of perfectly good players who simply didn't work out as he planned. Either he misjudged their talent before they got here, or he failed to develop that talent upon their arrival; it can only be one or the other. Ultimately, there's no doubt in my mind that Crean looks at potential recruits as nothing more than an metaphorical extension of the current bench, parts that are interchangeable each year with anyone currently on the roster and who's development has been lacking.

    Fan/Media reaction in Kentucky

Nothing like see Kentuckians destroy their own town over a loss. Just imagine how inventive they might have been had they won? We might have seen seats from Rupp arena being pilfered, then thrown through the plate glass windows of adult book stores. Undoubtedly, damage to both copies of the XXX best seller "Keeping love in the family" would have been avoided, but everything else would have been a complete loss.

    What Did Kentucky Just Do?

Yes, I'd have enjoyed that one too! lol
  22. TrueHoosier62

    What Did Kentucky Just Do?

The only thing that would have made the Kentucky loss better, and would really have been the icing on the sh*t cake for Kentucky, is for one of the school bands, ANY of the school bands, to have played "Indiana, Our Indiana", as they walked off the court.
