This is so bad. At home. My expectations for this season were so high. Now, I think we drop this and the next two. I bought expensive tickets for the Wisconsin game, more than I could afford. Oh I think he was dead on. Were going to see it on the road. A real grinder....slow played...keying on JB... Newkirk has to be the guy. He's smart with the ball, he's quick. He needs to be able to get something started...finish drives(I don't like the angles he takes to the rim). Has to be him. Doesn't necessarily mean shoot....must create opportunities going to the basket. If he can do that, were dangerous. Sucks, but I think much rides on the improvement of Josh. Crispin just made an interesting point about "positionless basketball" and Neukirk. "If you want to do that for 35 minutes, that's fine but, when you need to grind out a win in the B1G, against a team that wants to slow it down, you need a point guard that can make plays". When the schedule came out, I saw KU, UNC, Butler and UL. I said right then, "take 2 of 4 in the major non-con and I'll be happy". We are on track to match or better that prediction, so why am I not happy? Because this is a game we should have won. Simple. We gave up 1.18 pts per possession. Gave up an easy dunk with the game on the line and continue to live and die by the 3. Tell me this, if we are such a good shooting team, why don't we shoot good?
