I did guys, I really did. The drive from Madison stunk. Torrential downpour the entire way...5.5 hours of white knuckle, can't see a thing. No problems and traffic not terrible. Went to Nicks prior to game time which was awesome. Met some cool people, got some digits from a lovely lady wearing candy stripes and headed to the hall with 1 shot too many....a blessing considering that start. (Game.) Afterwards, stuck around and got to walk on the court. Wow. Jordan Hulls somehow was standing 2 feet from me. I shook his hand and wished him luck. Great guy! Anyway, we split, players didn't seem to be coming out. AH was awesome. On to the nightlife...Had to stop back at Nicks to see if I could find candy stripe girl again...no luck. Tried the fries... can't remember name...and a half Stromboli. Numms. Then, off to Kilroy's....good lord...$2 beers and a bunch of people buying shots? Gonna be a loooong ride back. Going to see more of the campus tomorrow. Want to see Cook Hall among other things.... obviously disappointed in the Basketball but heck, ya win some and lose some. Wish the students were here. I blame the B1G for botching the schedule on this game....ok let's schedule the two heavyweights in our conference on a date when no one will see it and have it on National television...nice. Oh I don't know. I think his defense has improved. I believe he thinks he's the only real scoring option, making him try to do to much. I did see him look off TB late for an open 3. Hard to tell if he is affecting chemistry negatively though. Whether he wants to be or not, he's one of the leaders on this team. He needs to start leading by example. I agree that something is off with this team mentally. Could they be lacking confidence? My take is that there has been a noticeable lack of intensity since The UNC game...even in the store-bought wins. I mean a precipitous drop in defensive intensity. James Blackmon showing up late and Freddie not having a jersey baffle me. James wants to prove he's ready for the NBA and Fred wants to play.... Crean sounded very confident that the team could easily fix its problems and right the ship. I agree, much of what is going wrong is correctable. He talked about a lack of off-ball movement with some guys....truth. Careless turnovers are correctable....truth, though I think we will always have 10-12 because we don't have anyone with a handle. I'm not sure exactly when the students come back. Might not be until the 9th? Either way, I think IU can pull it off. It's must win in my book. Hope Crean and the players see it that way. I'm not as ready to burn it all down after this loss as most. Top ten team, best defense in the nation, extremely long at every position.....We didn't get blown off the court there....within 6 second half, had a legit chance to win up to the last five minutes....with all those mistakes? Critical mistakes and couldn't hit anything all game yet still in striking distance? Like I said earlier, I think a loss here means nothing, but shows if we clean it up, we will win. This game meant nothing. The real test comes Tuesday. Wisconsin can create turnovers just like UL. TB and Davis are going to have a nightmare on their hands named Ethan Happ. Don't kid yourselves, that guy is WAY more talented than TB. His 7th and 8th moves are better than TB's first. They shoot the 3 better, move the ball better, play better defense. They are also beatable. We will get shots, they are susceptible to dribble penetration and are not great rebounders. We cannot waste possessions with them. Don't turn it over or I promise you, Wisconsin will go for the throat. They will hammer a 3 after each turnover. Count on it. Tough loss today. UL is the best defensive team in the country and they showed it. Our guys played hard all game, destroyed them on the boards. Shots just wouldn't go....some missed badly. Another opposing player comes in and gets a career high against the Hoosiers....what's with that? I've heard it said on here enough, but always thought it coincidental. It's every game isn't it?
