Well, for the first year or 300 pgs. It was really just a bunch of guys throwing out names to see what everyone thought. Your name here kind of thing. Then December 2016 came and things began to boil. Suddenly it was Brad Stevens. Stevens, Stevens, Stevens. If one didn't reference the name Brad Stevens within the post, they were placed on a 24hour suspension. In early January we started trying Home Runs besides Stevens. Names like Miller, Holtman, Marshall, Donovan. Each poster would give reasons why his guy would fit. By February we were in full on free-fall and we panicked. Some guy (insider) who don't know S*** put out some Jewel saying IU had contacted Donovan and he was interested in talking....Man, we jumped on that like a fat girl on a pork chop. Donovan, Donovan, Donovan. Saying Donovan wasn't coming would get you shanked in the parking lot. Late February-Early March, some guy (insider) who don't know S***, claims that Steve Alford is coming home. Well, we all turned green and puked. Some liked it, most didn't. We put that to bed fairly quickly. So we get to where we are now, with a group of guys that are pretty universally joined on one thing. A change needs to be made and made now. I think most of us have put the replacement 2nd to just getting the job done. That's likely why you are having difficulty seeing who people want as a new coach. I understand where you are coming from and maybe the "cheated" comment is not right for some. See, I don't care that it's only an NIT game, nor do I care that you and I were not going to attend. It's not about that. It's about yet another completely baffling, unexplainable, cowardly decision coming from an administration that seems intent on sabotaging its own team. It's about the players. I can't begin to understand this decision. So we are all thinking this has direct links to the firing/extending of Crean right? Ok, I need to say this then....Even if they announce tomorrow that he has been let go, as happy as we will all be, I'm calling for someone else to be fired over the weak decision to defer on a home game. The fact that The IU administration deferred on a home game in a post season tournament has me furious. I don't give crap one what it might signify to the future of the coaching staff. I'm with this. I'll watch and cheer my butt off regardless of who runs the team. I'm loyal. My loyalty will be rewarded with terrible defense, multiple turnovers and poor basketball IQ. My loyalty has been re-paid by missing the NCAA tournament in 2 of the last 4 years. This is not fair to me, to you, to all the other loyal fans out there. That's why a change needs to be made. Forget Tournament results and overall records right now, the quality of basketball being produced at Indiana University is sub-standard and virtually un-watchable. Thank you for writing this. I didn't have the guts because I've never posted tons. I have felt this way for months and hope something can be done to keep that stuff out of the game threads. I understand that it's an open forum and opinions vary but like MDN82, I think it comes down to respect. Respect for the posters, the team and the university. I loved this site. Loved it. You cannot understand what it meant for me to find this forum. Being hundreds of miles removed from Bloomington, I bled for anything where I could talk to Hoosier fans instead of Badger fans. The first forum I ever found was this one. It was like seeing the sun for the first time, I had no idea something like this existed. Being involved in the game threads this year has been a god damn embarrassment. It sickens me to see what has happened here. I'm talking game thread. I want the coach gone as much as anyone and make my opinion known in that thread.
