If Indiana plays the first half against Duke the way they did this one, crowd noise won’t be there. It’s always a possibility, for a team like ours to upset a team like Duke, but there is only a tiny window of opportunity. For Indiana to hit that window, they cannot have a half like they did tonight. Even if everything goes very well for the Hoosiers, it still might only mean they lose by under 15 instead of 30. Prepare yourselves for that. Go, cheer your @$$ off and enjoy what we all hope will (win or lose) be Indiana announcing its return to national prominence. It’s not just win or nothing. It’s not over before it starts guys, it’s just not. SH could come out sluggish, could struggle shooting, could lack communication and effort on defense. I think after 2 games we are all expecting teams to make 17 contested 3’s and every 40’ desperation shot clock heave. It’s just not realistic. I’m not blind, the team has its issues but we don’t exactly know what the team is yet until fully healthy. It’s a tough early season test that they could lose or win based on their effort level. I agree with this. Especially the consistency part. I think the rebuild is over for me not just when getting an NCAA bid, but when we get 2-3 in a row. That’s consistency. That’s proven success. As for my long term expectation, I’d like to see Indiana get its intimidation back. I want teams to fear playing us again. There was a time when opposing teams/fans would see Indiana on that magnetic schedule on their fridge and mark it as a loss a month before the game was to be played. The Indiana home court advantage was so pronounced that the game was won in the locker room before tipoff. Anyway, you’re right, Duke, KU and the rest, they are not in the ship every year, but they make a run at it every 3-4 because they are in the field every time. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Hey guys, I asked about this in the Howard game thread and it kind of got lost and went unanswered so I thought I’d try again here. Sometime near the end of the first half (I think) Durham got a rebound and started to push the ball up court. Took Howard by surprise a bit and then drove it to the paint for a coast to coast layup. Great play I thought. Anyway, after the play, the T.V. broadcast appeared to show CAM and Bruiser kind of, well, what I thought was, they looked to be yelling at him a little. Seemed somewhat upset. Did anyone else see this? Did I miss-read that? I don’t know, after the (perceived) altercation I described, I noticed Al then return to the court and have a short convo with the referee as well. I’m not going to get much done tomorrow. I’m still relatively confident he rolls with us. He’d be blind not to see all the social media posts by IU fans who have been nothing but complimentary to him, his game and how much his commitment would mean to this program.
