  1. He addressed his thoughts on leaving out De’ron in the body of the post. I’m certain you missed it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. I got that one too. The person who sent it to me also said the WC student section was chanting “Romeo Sucks”. I had hoped the video was a fake. Anyone but Romeo and we’d probably have seen haymakers. Glad he just walked away. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Ya know, the “waiting on Louisville” rumor is intriguing to me. While I believe there is absolutely no truth to the rumor, it did get me thinking about other possible reasons for delaying his commitment even further. Does anyone know if there is anything slated to happen between now and mid-April that he could possibly be ‘waiting’ on? Any announcement/news from teams or players? Anything expected to happen with the NBA in that timeframe? Any other theory besides he “he wants to finish his playing obligations?” Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  4. What was the tweet you guys are talking about? I couldn’t find anything overtly horrible. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Yeah, the connection I had to Marquette was not just my proximity but also that my Grandfather and Aunt both were Marquette grads. My Aunt was inducted into the Marquette hall of fame in 2010 for basketball and volleyball. They are both rabid hoops fans and so, through them, I watched plenty of Marquette basketball. I will say that I didn’t automatically hate the hire given our situation. To best describe what I felt at the time of the announcement was closer to a confounded surprise. I didn’t come on here and immediately blow the guy up, I was as complimentary of the man as I could be. It went down as I said, my first ever post stating that I didn’t think fans would like Tom at a school with such a knowledgeable fan base, and the basketball tradition of IU. It was not well received. In the meantime, my Aunt would message me twice a year, asking “Roses still blooming in Bloomington?” Her way of asking if we had yet figured it out. 6. It’s funny to me, reading this stuff. I was (I believe) the first to question the Crean hire. I’m an IU grad from Milwaukee Wisconsin. My father (IU fan) and I had intimate knowledge of Marquette University and Tom Crean. I remember the day his hiring was announced. We were at home watching the news and we both immediately looked at each other and said, in unison, “No Way”. We both knew well, the shortcomings you came to complain about in year 6. One of my first posts on this site was later that year in a game thread. I said that I thought the hire was less than ideal for an Indiana school, with such a knowledgeable fan base. That you would probably not be happy with him given what I’d seen. Post summary: “This is how he plays defense, it doesn’t just look bad because of the players, it is bad fundamentally and I don’t think IU purists will ever accept it”. “I didn’t say he was a bad coach, I said he is not an X’s and O’s coach with a playbook and a structured offense, which is a huge departure from what Indiana has been in the past. It’s not lack of talent to run the offense, it’s that there is no offense. The lack of talent is simply masking it. The largest complaint for MU fans is that it was very fly by the seat of your pants.” Unfortunately, you had all heard “It’s Indiana”, and were over the moon. I was bashed quite relentlessly and I just was trying to give a heads up. I didn’t post again until 2013, at which time, I was sure to give Crean my full support. So anyway, yeah it got touchy when anyone mentioned negative things about coach. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. Wow! Nobody stopped him. Went right past Langford and nobody moved. Tough loss for NA. It was theirs to lose in the 2nd. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. Langford turns it over with 4.6 to go. Warriors with a shot to win. Langford has been tripled all half. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  18. It’s full of some wild opinions. Maybe I was a little hard on the Facebook groups, some of the discussions are fine but many posters are either way behind the information curve or just plain troll happy. I guess I just think it would be better if some of their posters would spend less time on posting and more time on worthwhile things like spelling, and figuring out how to disengage the all-caps function. 20. Do any of you guys peruse the Indiana Facebook fan pages? I ask only because the recent discussions here have centered around the “backlash” argument, which is taken as gospel on Facebook. The latest theory on this particular Facebook page says that the reason Langford has declined to commit, is not only fear of backlash but, that he would almost certainly not win the Indiana Mr. Basketball award, if he had committed elsewhere. This theory was not only well received, it was gaining ground! I normally would not be caught dead posting on this (Facebook) page as I find it to be the largest group of idiots ever assembled in one place. In this situation however, I could not help myself. I posted the information exactly as stated in the above post and found myself outnumbered by even dumber responses. I even went a step further in regard to Gary Harris, stating that he not only won the award after committing to MSU in November, but beat out Indiana commit, Yogi freakin Ferrell for the award. Admittedly, this stumped many. Fact is it was just me arguing against, well me and one other dude. The point I’m trying to get to here is that the theories on our sight may be tedious but, I assure you it can get Way, Way, Wayyyyyyyy worse. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. LB was not a recruiting miss. He signed with IU. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Why can’t you disclose it? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. So why not commit after State then? And flak at school? To that I’d say, he is 6’6 200 LBS and athletic. Also appears to be beloved as a God on Earth at NA. I doubt he’s taking any flak at school after committing anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. I too hope this announcement date puts to bed the idea that he was reluctant to commit from fear of getting boo’s while playing. The venues in the post-season games are in Oregon, New York, and Atlanta. Say the kid decides on Vandy tonight. Are any of you going to follow the dude to Oregon to boo him? I can only speak for myself here, but it’s a no from me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  25. I keep going back to his Father’s comment about giving IU one last chance to make their pitch. My take from that is IU is not currently leading, but has made the top 2 and anything can happen. I think it’s still IU and Vandy, I don’t see the KU smoke. And I don’t believe that he has somehow strung IU along in order to focus on a scoring title. We were late to the party, but if we do get that last visit, I feel he chooses us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
