Has it ever happened though? Has anyone ever been the head coach of two different basketball programs within the Big Ten conference? I don’t think it has ever happened to my knowledge. At least not in the modern era. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I began to wonder about coaches like Matta and other former/current coaches in the B1G. The question I had was if there was a precedent for a B1G coach either switching schools, coming back after retirement, or coming back after being employed outside the conference, and going to a different team within the B1G? I can’t remember an instance which makes me think guys like Matta and Beilein would both be unattainable on simple principle. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Triple dub for Ayo today vs. Badgers. Whooped em down the stretch. Talk about team identity. Today Wisconsin’s identity was getting monster dunked on. Coffey had to have 10 poster dunks. 75-60 Illinois final. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I don’t disagree; however, I would also challenge you to find a team not named MSU, who had a winning record in away games. I’ll save you the search, there weren’t any. That said, I think his legacy, for me, will always be losing 12 straight games with a team that was capable of beating the leagues best on any random night. I’ll never be able to think about him, without thinking about that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I’d say I’m in the camp that says they will be better. If Trace returns i think they could be very good. What about Brunk too? I look at it and see Size depth, guard depth, shooting, athleticism, toughness. Off season development for the current Freshman class that has already impressed. We’d have 3-4 A+ defenders with experience and most importantly, rebounding which we DO NOT HAVE NOW. In my opinion, it’s low probability that they wouldn’t be better. The coaching thread has a few who would like to see Sampson return. I’m not saying it would be good or bad. I’m just wondering how that conversation would go. Like “Hey coach, look, sorry about all the death threats, how would you like to come back to coach at Indiana?” Lol! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. I personally would have immediately began fouling to extend the game after we cut it to 3 with 50 seconds left. Rutgers is 2nd to last in the nation in that category. I think it was a mistake to let Rutgers run the clock down. I bet the Rutgers staff is laughing their a$$es off this morning over that one. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. I’d also like to see him look to penetrate while he’s in. Heard many people lobby for playing time on his behalf, based on the assumption that he is better suited to attack the rim and create through penetration, than say Rob is. I wonder a bit as to where that comes from. To my knowledge he hasn’t yet tried to penetrate until tonight? Anyway, would like to see it more. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. I’m going to walk my statement back. After watching again and concentrating on his play, I’m going to admit that I was wrong about his defense. Contrary to what I thought, he was actually really good. There were couple times where he over ran a play or two, but that’s about it. Nothing that resulted in a score. There was a play in the first half where it looked like he might have over helped and was late on a close out. Actually, that wasn’t his fault. Wasn’t his guy even. Baker came down the wing in transition and was uncovered, Kristian saw it and ran out to contest. He was the only one who even noticed. His shot fell tonight. If he keeps improving on offense, I’d have no problem with him going up to 15 min. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. 9 god dammit! In a one possession loss. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  24. Sure. We just gave up 74 to a team that struggled to hit 60 in 6 straight games. We were raped, smoked, torn, gutted, splattered, by dribble penetration in the perimeter one on one game. Who’s that “complicate” things for? So TJD takes the blame today because the Rutgers guards spent more time in the lane than he did. Ok I’m with ya here. 9 second half turnovers., because it was “complicated” by the lack of a post player....cool, let’s go with that. I’m good with it. 25. Nah man. No single player, into it or out of it, decided this. You couldn’t stop dribble penetration on the perimeter, were late rotating all game, forgot, yes forgot, Gio Baker on several defensive plays, and turned it over 9 times in the second half. Look no further than that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
