Agreed. I was against cutting Robs minutes in favor of Kristian because I was afraid we’d lose Rob mentally. I don’t think we can afford it if he was to check out. Eventually it gets old waiting for a guy to figure out if he wants to be the point guard of the Indiana basketball team. He need to show it tonight. Maybe I just knew it wouldn’t be challenging enough if I made all the picks? Josh needed a handicap as high as the one he would get against me in golf. Earth to the moon high. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Haha! Definitely. One thing I remember clearly was when the kids got a little older and started to fill out a bit, there was a rule change I implemented (in the middle of play) that reduced the games from 21pts to 10pts. It was explained that (time) was the reason. Had nothing to do with stamina whatsoever.....this rule may or may not have been a key to success. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I failed to make a prediction twice this season and received goose eggs. I trail by 143 points. Know that anyone in the top 5 is just renting the space. Dress for warm temperatures fellas, you are about to move south. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Side note: There is a roughly 4’ fence that separates my property from the green space of the vacant lot where we would play football. To get there, we would have to crawl under that fence. I watched Jalen jump over that fence with my own eyes. I also beat Jalen in a one on one tournament we had with Chris and his friends during an open gym at the middle school. The winning shot was a miracle baseline three while falling out of bounds. None of those boys could beat me until they were 16. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Nope. I know he and his family personally. My son was in his class at Sun Prairie high and were on the team for football/basketball. He has been at my house. I used to play pickup flag football games with the boys in the vacant lot behind our house. Great kid. Doesn’t matter how it looks. Give him 30 seconds in an interview and nobody will remember he opted out. He’s that likable. He got hurt. Doesn’t want to have it happen again. I can say this. Jalen needs to get to the league, and needs to be healthy. Many people depend on it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Game thread: 2/13 IU @ #4 OSU, Noon ESPN

The host of the show did actually acknowledge that Rob And Frank (didn’t mention Lander) had not been very good either. I don’t believe they were trying to downplay Al’s roll, nor claim that he was solely responsible for allowing the lead to swell. I think they were just saying that we’ve watched this play out before, and it just doesn’t work. The discussion was centered around Archie’s coaching trends and the fact that he seems to keep trying the same things that have proven not to be working out. I personally agree with that for my part. Al, we know doesn’t fair well in that single up, end of clock situation. He’s not a primary ball handler, and not that type of player in my humble opinion. We did have three of them on the bench though.....Well, 2 and the guy who is the best scoring guard we have. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I’m watching a post game show on YouTube. The host brought up 2 points about Archie’s coaching tendencies that I feel are absolutely baffling trends. 1. Jerome Hunter comes in, hits a big 3, has a great post feed for a score, gets a couple rebounds, has a nice post seal for a score. Archie rewards him with the bench. Jerome was having an excellent offensive series and got pulled for it. I saw this, and other examples just like it over the years. It’s maddening. 2. Indiana claws back to within 8 before the half. The host says “Ok, 45 seconds left, our possession, we gotta get this cut down to 6”. I was thinking the same. So were all of you I’m sure. Anyway, Archie comes out the timeout with Durham, Leal, Hunter, Thompson and TJD. Durham with the ball in his hands to end the half? Again? Really Arch? Obviously it didn’t work. It never has. He turned it over of course. OSU gets a layup and a 10 point lead going in after Durham jacks up a wild shot with no chance to end it. Those two things are not one game anomalies. He constantly does things that go against a stack of statistical proof a mile high. I don’t think anyone could explain these things to me in a way that would make sense. What wasn’t true? Edit: I seriously need to know where you are coming from and why you are doing this. It’s really starting to piss me off now dude. What wasn’t 100% verifiable, unimpeachable fact? You need to come up with a reason man. One more insult wrapped up as a dissenting viewpoint, and I walk. 8 years here man. I’ve never been treated like this. I’m pretty sure this was along the lines of what I was getting at when the whole thing began last week. I acknowledge the 3-9 record in that circumstance, as being an area of concern. All I said is that I would personally care about it more if I knew it didn’t happen all the time in this conference. I listed 6 of the several times it’s happened this season to teams other than IU and counted up a three year total in the high 20’s. It’s a tough conference and we are not in the at top tier talent wise. Maybe not even the middle. This roster was going to lose some games no matter who coached it. Add to that the lack of a coherent offense and the occasional blah effort and we have an inconsistent team. All I say is who we lose to, and when, matters less to me as an evaluation tool for coaching than the ability to create a functional offense for the roster we have. The lack of player development. The on again-off again effort defensively. The ineffective recruiting and failure to address immediate deficiencies. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Ok, I apologize for that post. I usually respond to an attack with an attack. I was wrong to do that. The point I was trying to make before being called a liar was that Rutgers was ranked in the top 15 less than 2 weeks before we played them and are ranked again now. Even after your 5 game losing streak (which included #9 Wisc, OSU, #10 Iowa, and #23 MSU. It’s not completely inconceivable that IU should, could, and would lose to Rutgers. No sir, that team will be in the tournament for a certainty. IU might be watching from the couch. To me it’s just a very bad example of the “IU stumbles to a nobody after beating ranked teams” argument. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I wish people would stop saying that about the Rutgers loss. Rutgers is a ranked team. 10 days before Indiana played them, Rutgers was ranked #15 in the country and was one of the 4 best teams in the conference. Thee weeks prior they were as high as #12. They got beat by Iowa and OSU to knock them from the rankings. Not fricken smoked by them either. Very little surprise here that they are back in the top 25 once again.
