I am just wondering what players like JBJ must be thinking? Joining a team with guys that have awesome athletic ability, and than this? -
Starting the dislike before the season even starts....

Hey everyone, it seems that COWARDpari has written a new book. It will soon be a staple in every school room and on campus, provided UK players and fans can read it, or if players stay long enough to read it. -
Hi everyone. Been a while since I have been here but I was wondering if anyone can find a good place to get IU podcasts to listen to while in the car? Thanks in advance. If there isn't anyone doing podcasts, it would be a great idea IMO. I would be tuned in for sure.

Peter Jurkin to East Tennessee State
jdailey1981 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yep, we knew it would happen. Question is, where will IU go from here? I know that Jurkin spent a lot of time on the bench, but still. Os it just that he seeks more playing time, or has Indiana Basketball lost it's luster it once had? -
Haha haha! We may not have been there, but it feels great to know that something is right in the college basketball universe.

What Does it Mean to Play for Indiana?
jdailey1981 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It means that Indiana is was and always will be the pinnacle of college basketball. However, maybe we should just get some one and done athletes that could bring championships...or we could just get a better bunch of athletes, and not just "settle." -
Hurryin Hoosiers will be back and that's a positive!

I think that next season will be the HMP and Yogi show. JBJ and the rest will do well im sure. It will also be a make or break year for CTC. If he wants to keep his job, he will have to show major turn around. -
Indiana Rivals predicts us to finish 9th next season
jdailey1981 replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Next year would have to be the Yogi and HMP show I have a feeling. All I know is, settling for mediocre is getting old, while one and done's make it every year. -
My big question was Bo's remaining TO. He crossed half court with like 3.9 seconds left....call a timeout and devise a better play....

I wish I could say they suck. I really dislike that team but it is what it is. They simply got their stuff together at the end of the season and got to this point. Also we seem to forget, these are 19-20 year old young men achieving their dreams. We can't forget that.

James Franklin to Penn State, what does it mean for the Big Ten?
jdailey1981 posted a topic in Off Topic Forum
Living in Tennessee, I have seen what he has done for Vanderbilt. Took a lower end SEC football team and did wonders. Led them to back to back bowl games for the first time in Vandy's history...that being said, this could be a good hire in the stance of the Big Ten and their return to power as a football conference. Leaving an up and coming SEC team to coach at PSU, while on probation still, is gutsy, however here is what I see: 1. He will turn the program around. 2. Penn State could be a force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten once off probation. 3. OSU may actually have competition now, and Buckeyes fans won't be able to gloat as much. As much as I hate to say it, but he is a good hire, however, he can make other teams in the Big Ten raise the bar as well. I see this as a good move going forward, helping the Big Ten go the right way in a return to prominence. Now I just hope Kevin Wilson does something to help IUFB go the right way as well. He started going the right way last night... -

What Do You Love Most About Indiana Basketball?
I honestly don't think the SEC is much better than the B1G. Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are obviously very good teams. Nebraska wasn't bad either as they were able to beat Georgia in their bowl game. I can't see a program like Michigan staying like they are, and I feel they will be back to a perennial top 20 team in the country again. I think Oklahoma beating Alabama showed everyone that the SEC isn't some super conference that nobody else can compete against
S Carolina barely beat Wisconsin, however, OSU lost to Clemson. Once again showing OSU struggles against states south of the Mason Dixon line, however that is not what this is about. FSU was the only team that WASN'T a surprise this year. Anyone who said they honestly saw MSU beating OSU or Auburn beating Alabama had to have had some serious doubt in their head. I am just ready to see the return of the Big Ten to football prominence again. I am tired of these SEC zealots calling us the "little ten joke conference" -

That and the end of the BCS ends the coddling of the SEC. I was tickled to see Alabama and Auburn lose their games. Proved the SEC was not the best this year. I hope CKW gets a good DC is all I can say. I am ready for IUFB to go bowling! -
Because we are IU....Plain and simple. We were instilled knowledge in us from youth that IU is the definition of basketball, and to always hate that team in west lala land and that team from the sec. Even more so, for those of us who are old enough, who have seen what our program has done and can do, and we are getting furious because our team is not what it used to be, and is no longer taken serious. Times have changed though, our program will not be the clean program it used to be thanks to cellphone samsung, and national championships, or even getting in the NIT, are no longer a certainty year in and out. I for one am tired of hearing about Syracuse, pUKe, UM and Mich St, and wisc, talk smack, but unfortunately, they have earned the right to do so. The only way to silence them is to beat them, and the only way to do that is for IU to use the same mentality it used to, straight in your face, fast, cram the ball down your throat basketball. Reach back onto the cobwebs and pull out a jar of old IU basketball, crack it open and get a taste of what it was, and strive to bring it back. IU used to be one of the toughest programs in the nation. Coaches would tell their players "You better bring your best. We are playing Indiana." These days are long gone, and now teams come into AH thinking they will have an easy win. I long for the day our program will come back to those days, but the question is, how long will that be? What are your thoughts as to what makes us so hard to please?
-
Well, Alabama has a tough football program, however I think they just may have given themselves a death sentence with Kiffin. Judging what happened at Tennessee and USC, and the fact that the NCAA watches him like a hawk, they may have bit off more than they could chew.
-
Nice! Great move, and for comic relief....Alabama hires Lane Kiffin as OC.

# of Indiana teams to make the tourney?
jdailey1981 replied to coachmayhew's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I say this will be the year that Crean really feels that heat if IU doesn't make the NIT.....especially considering the year before the same team won the B1G title outright. -
It is easy for Cal to talk smack after he has tucked tail and ran. He can take pot shots all he wants, they are only words, and that's what he is.....talk. Does he have balls to back it up? No! If he did, he would do the right thing and bring the game back, but he is a gutless coward that didn't want to come back to AH, and he knows that IU would have destroyed them last year at SMURF arena.
