The fans aren't going to the games?
drock161 replied to ALASKA HOOSIER's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I know a lot of people weren't too thrilled with some of the new ticket policies at the start of the season too. They tied season tickets purchases to football tickets (which I know has been covered at great length in 342657612345336457 different threads about Glass), but also they're getting less games than they used to (what is it, 8 games if you buy season tickets now). The way they decide who gets tickets to what games has changed recently as well. It isn't by seniority, but rather by some odd point system depending on how many games of different sports you go throughout the year. So if you happen to be busy in the fall with a job, marching band, school work, being hung over, or whatever and can't go to every single football, soccer, volleyball, and foosball game, chances are you'll get a worse pull than you'd like. Now I've never bought season tickets because of band, but if I did and only got junky games after 4 years of being here because I'm busy in the fall, I'd probably sell a lot of the tickets too... In regards to Dakich's out-of-state student comments, I haven't heard something more ridiculous in a long time, and I'm dealing with all of the bogus messing with the education system right now. If he thinks that just because a student isn't from the state of Indiana that means they have no love for their school or care less than anyone else, he must be a whole lot less intelligent than I though. And if there is any part of him that thinks students should pick their college based on basketball team, he needs to get his head and priorities back in line. There are a million different reasons a kid decides to come to IU, but the basketball team should be one of the last ones he/she considers. University is about education and building life experiences, it costs way too much time and money for sports to be a major factor (unless you're going to school to play sports). What state you're from has no bearing on your ability to be a fan and love your school. -
It also looks like he needs to check his email more often. That's A LOT of unread emails... What if one of them is a commitments from a 7'8" center from Norway that's been playing in an underground all-star basketball league his whole life and wants to come to IU next year?! Now he'll never get that chance!!! (Too far?)

It's under the new "doggy pile" rule they just added 5 minutes ago... -

No. That's probably from a game over a holiday break, most of the band is made up of alumni at those. I also don't recognize that bass cab... Is this an old video? -
Couldn't it warm the coach up to IU, even a little? Any slight nudge towards us is a step in the right direction.

I've played all of these songs hundreds of times over the past 4 years (except for Chimes, we only play that at our showcase concert) and I've never known the words to Fight or Chimes. Thanks for posting this! Also, listen to the Viking March if you get the chance. It's a great piece of music that's only made better by the fact that we use its trio section for "Indiana, Our Indiana!" Karl King was an awesome composer. (End band nerdism) -

Wow Stan with a tough shot. As much trouble as he's caused, it's nice to see him do some good stuff every once and awhile. -

The only reason we're in this is because of 3's. We have to play against Wisconsin, the refs, and Crean's subbing patterns... -

Someone should make a Dakich drinking game. - He talks smack about single player for too long after 1 mistake = 1 drink - He walks out onto the court during a time out = 2 drinks What else? -
[attachment=1574:ImageUploadedByBtownBanners1422447209.188499.jpg] It's game day! I'm rocking my IU tie at student teaching placement. It's sure to annoy my few students who are Purdoodoo fans!

He spends a lot of time thinking about IU... Sounds more like he has some sort of kindergarten school yard crush.

And their phones! Oh wait, they've already done that to themselves...

Tidbit on MD's forum...turned Top10 Hated Teams

I would love a B1G rivalry with MD. It'd be a good series with some seemingly level minded and mature(ish) fans. -

Well it wouldn't be as fun unless we had to beat both the Terps and the refs... -

So... Baylor is playing Huston-Tillotson tonight? On the score center app, they have no logo or record... Do they even exist..?

I have this horrible feeling that basically every game will be this close for the rest of the season. I'm not saying that because I think we're horrible (though I know we can play better than this), I'm saying this because I think Crean wants to give every single one of us a heart attack or 5...

I know it's been said over and over, but WOW TROY! Earlier this season, he would've taken the shot when double guarded, but tonight, he found Hartman wide open and passed so he could take the 3. I was really worried about him during non-conference but I'm glad that he's proving us wrong!

An upperclassman Rojo is going to be fun to watch.

For those of you playing pick 'ems, I think we can safely say that Holt is getting more rebounds and minutes than Hanner tonight...

[attachment=1541:10419954_767196933346350_1230727904703772460_n.jpg] I think this is one of the coolest images from that night. The OSUMB is fantastic and it's amazing how much support they get from their school, fans, and team. (If you couldn't tell, I sometimes root for the bands more than the teams...)

This is one of the most thought out and levelheaded posts I've seen all year here. I agree with every word. I think the closeness of this game and the loss at MSU will keep us from going victory drunk into the Penn State game. At least I hope so...

...Crean has no control over what the band plays. Maybe he's made some requests about what goes in our book, but I have more say in what we play than he does. He's probably the coach who's interacted with the band the least in the past bunch of years. Anyway, back on topic. It sucks to see JJ go, whoever replaces him has big shoes to fill.
