He may play point, yes, but he's not a PG. That's like JBJ running the point.
-
How did they recruit over him though? Obi is about to retire because of chronic knee/back pain, so they'd have an open scholarship regardless. He was not forced out in any definition of the term. They do not have a PG on the roster or coming in. In fact they quit recruiting all 2017 PGs to show faith to him.

Nope. They begged Thornton to stay at Duke but his dad didn't like how he was being used and was in his ear about it. Thornton wasn't 'forced out' either. They learned in January that he likely wasn't coming back and then they offered Jack White.

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
KB0 replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Important to remember that the starting five/rotation to start the season will likely be very different by the end of the season. I would guess the starting five for the first game would look like this (assuming everyone is healthy and Troy is gone): RoJo JBJ OG Hartman Bryant Davis/Morgan/CuJo are the first three off the bench. -
I will say that it's super bright once you're actually down on the court. The first few times you look up it's a little blinding. But yeah, some of the seats are dark enough that it makes you feel like you're watching the previews at a movie theater or something.

Yep, Memphis fans hate him. Best to get the hell out of Dodge while you can.

ESPN's quote about OG is pure gold: " The return of guard James Blackmon Jr. from injury is among the many reasons to stay bullish on the Hoosiers. Robert Johnson, Collin Hartman, and OG Anunoby, a basketball cyborg incrementally approaching self-awareness, are also on that list." http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/15123601/duke-blue-devils-kentucky-wildcats-college-basketball-top-25-2016-2017

Well connected. Hopefully they're wrong this time, though. I agree it makes no sense to hire an agent this early on in the process. -

Have heard early returns from Lagow aren't exactly promising. Hopefully he can get it sorted out. Should be able to get a decent look at the spring game. -

It's not Priller's fault Crean gave him a scholarship. No way I would be giving that up and it's unfair to ask him to. -
I don't know if you're being realistic, but those would both be the largest punishments the NCAA has ever handed out for Men's Basketball and by a long shot (I believe). I despise UNC, that punishment is the equivalent of the death penalty SMU received. The NCAA never wants to give out another death penalty.

Blackmon also missed half the season.

Honestly, I don't think they are doing that well. The men's team was really really good a few years ago when the had Butler, Drouin, and Bayer. Kuhn's time is the fastest 800 for an Indiana HS grad. He almost went to school for baseball instead of track. Looks like he made a smart decision.

I'm hearing that Bryant won't be back. Hope it's not true. -
What other student is prevented from capitalizing on their name and likeness?
-
Geez, Ingram at 7? i'd take him at 1 and would be surprised if he fell past 2. Also think Brice Johnson will be trash in the NBA. I think the latest DX mock has him at 33.
-
Yeah, from what i have gathered that never took place.

What a career. 6th all time on IU's scoring list with a total of 1,986 1st all time in assists with 633. 88 assists ahead of second place This season he averaged 5.6 apg. 2nd best apg in IU history behind Isiah's 5.7 10th all time in made field goals 2nd all time in made 3-pointers. 11 behind AJ Guyton Most games started in IU history I'm sure I missed a few others as well. The numbers are definitely impressive, but Yogi's consistency was the most important for me. Every single game you knew that you could count on him in some way or another. The way he developed into the leader the team needed this year says a lot. Thanks Yogi.

The ESPN article says a full investigation occurred in a timely manner.

So IU would rather play ND than Wisconsin, right?

Perhaps, rumors is the wrong term, if so I apologize, but he was never formally accused. http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2015/03/rasheed-sulaimon-center-sexual-assault-allegations-prior-dismissal "Separate allegations of sexual assault by Sulaimon came from two female students in the 2013-14 academic year. Both students voiced allegations publicly, but neither filed a complaint through the Office of Student Conduct or took legal action through the Durham Police Department. The students declined to discuss their allegations with The Chronicle." Here are Sulaimon's statements on the situation: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/12787744/rasheed-sulaimon-denies-assault-says-dismissal-was-separate-matter I'm not sure why he would be kicked off for allegations if they were thoroughly investigated and found to be untrue.

Same exact situation in Chrome as well.
