  1. People actually enjoy Nike? I go out of my way to make sure I never buy anything that is Nike. Terrible basketball shoes, terrible running shoes, over-priced mediocre athletic clothes, etc.
  2. Yeah, and they won the first "informal" 45 minute period 3-0.
  3.   I never claimed Indiana would not be able to recruit other kids. One again, rankings for the most part are generally a good predictor of playing time and ability. There will always be exceptions though. Also Dekker was a stud freshman, so your point there is irrelevant.

    UNC NCAA Allegations

They did this because it may allow them to delay their response to the NOA. They are trying to make it through basketball season before receiving their punishment.
  5. Mario Kart Double Dash. Never lost a cup on that game and never will.
  6. Sam Dekker was a 99 rated recruit and and No. 12 overall nationally. Keep feeding that narrative and maybe it will come true though.
  7. 6'-3". Should have beat them the first trip to regionals. Were up 8 in the 4th quarter. Closest anyone played them on their trip to a state title.
  8. Interesting to hear him say he may use TT up top again in certain situations. He did a few times last year, but I always thought TT was better dropping deep and picking up the ball. Creating for others.

    Favorite Cartoon Growing Up

It wasn't a show, but Clavin and Hobbes had a bigger influence on my childhood than anything else.
  10. For the people suggesting that this is the only type of recruit that Wisconsin gets - stop. That's not true. Wisco may not be pulling down Top 10-20 recruits consistently (not for lack of trying), but they are also getting players higher than No. 998 in the nation. As suggested this kid is a good, not great, shooter with decent size. The best path for him would be to take a year to redshirt and work on his strength and defense. Then hopefully log 5-10 minutes as a RS Freshman and try to work his way into the rotation. Unfortunately we have learned over the years that Crean doesn't like to use redshirts because he likes to have roster flexibility.  Sure the kid can shoot and is from Indiana. Those are great qualities to have. You also need elite level recruits to compete at a high level these days. This is not 1980. For everyone claiming that recruiting rankings are a "crapshoot, they may be if you look at a single site. However, if you use the RSCI rankings (which is a combination of several rankings) they are pretty predictive of playing time and ability level. You can scream "BUT OLADIPO WAS ONLY a 2.674 STAR RECRUIT" all you want. Those type of players are not the norm. Not every low star player that commits here is going to turn into Oladipo.  If you look at the reactions last night from some of the people who extensively cover high school basketball in Indiana they were "Wow. Can't believe that" and "Completely stunned" or something along those lines. So to say this is an underwhelming commitment at this stage in the process is accurate. If GG was the last one to round out a class with some 4-5 star players it would make more sense. It's not "complaining" to be critical of recruiting as long as the complaints are well thought out and valid. Crean has missed on his fair share of recruits, especially recently. It's okay to ask questions. All that said, the kid is a Hoosier. I'll support him every time he puts on a jersey, but that doesn't mean you can't have some concerns about the process that brought him to IU.
  11. Played Cody Zeller probably 5-6 times in high school. Ended our season at Regionals twice :D   Best high school team I ever watched was the Greg Oden/Mike Conley team. Conley was the quickest player I ever saw at the high school level.
  12. Ingram is an interesting character. He's an athletic freak (just check out Duke's instagram), but he's also a toothpick. He'll get stronger under a college strength/conditioning program, but it'll take a while for him to bulk up. He will likely be given the key to Duke's offense from the start of the season. I'm curious to see how much Coach K will play him at the 4 this season. The jury is still out on Grayson. Some people think he is going to be a star, while others feel he would be better served playing in a sixth man role.   Personally, I think Thornton will be around two years and Ingram will bolt for the NBA after this season. GIles is heading to either WF or Duke. Also sounds like Frank Jackson will be heading to Duke. For whatever reason, the OP is ready to look at the 2016 season, so ignoring this coming season and looking at 2016:   Thornton Kennard Allen Taytum Giles    Jeter, Obi, Vrankovic, Jackson, Robinson and whoever else they recruit. That's assuming they get the some big commits they are leading on. Some big IFs in there, though.
  13. Read it earlier this morning. It's disturbing that people believe this behavior is appropriate.
  14. I'm excited to see what Wedderburn can do. I spoke with a player currently on the team about a month ago who said he hadn't seen him play and didn't know anything about him until the press release from the team itself. TT can pull the strings from midfield and it will be nice to have an experienced finisher in Maurey up top. For this team to improve Femi will need to become better in front of goal and they'll need a bit of scoring from the bench in Thomas and Sparks. Lillard will likely be the best player on the pitch in the majority of games.
  15. Indiana could have just won a title and he probably still would have left. It has nothing to do with Indiana "no longer being considered a giant in the CBB world." It has everything to do with DukeBluePlanet. They have the best social media, website, YouTube presence, etc. in the country and have for a whie.

    ESPNs Way too early top-25

UNC has until August 18th to respond to the NOA. After that the NCAA has 60 days to respond.

    ESPNs Way too early top-25

Wells was surely an important player; a veteran presence on and off the court, but he wasn't "by far their biggest playmaker." They bring back nearly everyone and add Stone, Sulaimon, and Robert Carter. That's a scary roster no matter who you are.

    Recruiting tactic

ITH/Assembly Call did a podcast with Jeremy Gray a while back and he talked about how they were going to use virtual reality in recruiting. Stated something along the lines of the recruit being able to put on the headset and see what it was like to run out with the team into a packed AH and play in a game. Things of that nature. The interview had a lot of good interview about what the Cuban Center will be able to do so I would give it a listen.

Where can we get 6 wins?

Oh don't get me wrong, Duke definitely was an awful program for a while before he got there. And I'm not trying to knock CKW at all, just wanted to point out that Cutcliffe is not a bad coach.

Where can we get 6 wins?

      1. "Duke is worse than we have ever been"   Well this just simply is not true any in way, shape or form.    All time record:   Duke - 474–493–31 (.490) IU - 459–631–45 (.424)   Last season:   Duke - 5-3 in conference, 9-4 overall IU - 1-7 in conference, 4-8 overall   I can continue if you want. However, it will only further illustrate that your claim is wrong.   2. Cutcliffe is a bad coach?   Cutcliffe receives Walter Camp coach of the year award Cutcliffe voted the nations most underrated coach  Cutcliffe ranked 9th best coach in college football   He's so bad that Peyton Manning and a plethora of other quarterbacks flock to Duke to work with him in the off season. He's so bad that he turned to the Tennessee job among others recently.   Should I continue to prove you wrong or will this suffice?

Where can we get 6 wins?

Wait, what? Surely this is an absolute joke. Cutcliffe is widely regarded as a great coach. I''ve seen him on lists of the top 10 coaches in college football before.

NBA finals Golden State vs. Cavs

This is just an empty narrative that people try to sell. Yes, NBA players travel and get away with it. Probably more so than in college or any other level. The travels that go uncalled generally do not happen when a player is advancing to the basket, looking to score, etc.    I also don't buy that the star treatment is as bad as detractors make it out to be. Does LeBron get some calls? Absolutely. He also gets fouled on 75% of his drives to the basket and they often go uncalled. Stars will get more calls because they have the ball more often.   The majority of arguments against the NBA are grossly exaggerated (by people who don't watch it) to try and make a point. The NBA is not the NCAA. It never will be. I prefer college the college game, but it isn't necessary to manufacture arguments to try and bash the NBA.

NBA finals Golden State vs. Cavs

What?   An hour until the tip of game three. Not sure if the Cavs can pull it out tonight, but I'm thinking they win one of two in Cleveland.
