You make a fair enough point. Humorous as well.

My whole issue with Troy is that he ran a teammate off. If I am unaware of someone else on the team that has done the same thing then I apologize, but to my knowledge he is the one and only on the "TEAM" that has done this. ****Which just so happens to be a big man that we lack this year****

You don't have to believe anything I say. Nobody does. Nor do I have prove anything to you to voice my opinion. I don't believe I called him any names other than a dope smoker or pot head, but I do believe there is sufficient evidence available to prove that much is true.

Anyone from the 91-92 team or the 92-93 team. I mention the entire teams because they were all great because they were great teammates. Calbert Cheaney Greg Graham Alan Henderson Eric Anderson Chris Reynolds Damon Bailey Matt Nover Jamal Meeks Todd Leary Pat Graham Pat Knight Todd Lindeman Brian Evans

May sound crazy, but I would contribute Yogi going from skinny H.S. kid to a Freshmen with Popeye arms for his Freshmen year struggles. The guy had to get used to firing off treys with those new cannons he developed.

Could Crean shake things up for the Grand Canyon game?
Uwe Robb replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I have been one of the ones being hard on J April. It is a little unfair because of how little everyone has seen of him. It is just pure speculation, but I see him as another Peter Jurkin. He may last another year even, but with CTC's recruiting habits I see this kid not developing at all and transfering at the end of this year or at the end of next year. I have no problem at all with JA getting some run at the end of these blowout games, but he never should have played in that Lville game. Again just my opinion. Hanner was in a little bit of fould trouble, but Emmitt never was. I see those two along with Morgan and OA next year being our inside threats. At no point in my opinion will JA ever be more than a scrub time player. I can understand what everyone is saying about developing our talent, but like I said I do not see him being here for more than 1 or 2 years with Crean's turnstyle recruiting system. So it's hard for me to get excited when we put him on the floor when he will be playing for Franklin College or Georgia State next year. -

I accept your apology and I would like to extend one as well. There was no reason for either of us to go that low. I've seen highlight tapes and the limited minutes that he has played this year. Probably nothing more or less than you or any other hardcore IU fan has seen. A look back at his stats only shows 1 TO on the year, maybe I am wrong. Like I said in earlier post this is just one man's opinion as is yours. Truth be told I hope you are right and I have to eat crow, but I just don't see it. -

I would agree with you as well to a certain extent. You need to run your starters and 6,7 & 8 off the bench together. Especially since we are so young. If CTC wants to put April in with 8 min or so to go in the game I would be fine with it. Who knows he may surprise me. I will also point out that some of these guys could be auditioning for a scholarship next year. Whether it be for IU or a transfer. -

You just admit that you haven't seen much of him, but you accuse me of an ill-informed post. "Pot meet Kettle" I am an IU fan and I would assume you are too if it weren't for you wanting J April on the floor. Maybe you are the closet Wildcat fan? -
Could Crean shake things up for the Grand Canyon game?
Uwe Robb replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just one man's opinion. He could play 40 min a game the entire year and still not improve enough to be a solid contributor, so yes any of his playing time would be a waste of time for this team, unless he is in at the end of a game to kill time and keep our contributors from getting injured. He is a 7 footer that got 0 offers before Crean came along. I promise you there is a reason for that. And it is not that Crean is some great recruiter that found a diamond in the rough. This kid is not a D1 basketball player. If you want D2 or NAIA talent on the floor then he is your man. If you want the best team on the floor you need more time for Emmitt, HMP & Colin. I promise you these 3 also need playing time for improvement. -

I cannot take anything anyone says seriously if it has anything to do with J. April getting more playing time. If you have watched or know anything about basketball at all you would realizet this kid is a slightly (And I mean VERY slightly) more athletic Peter Jurkin. He should never see the floor unless it is Mop up time or unless he gets a new pair of hands sewn to his body. -
Haha, I am not Luke Fischer, but I started doing business with his dad in February. He found out I was a huge IU fan and he was not shy about spilling the beans.
-
I cannot tell you how much CTC was involved. I would hope that he didn't know much. I could imagine a Freshmen not wanting to rat out a teammate, but I know for fact this is what went on. I would say he was homesick, but it was largely due to the way he was treated by Troy. This basketball had the entire teams signature on it and was stolen from underneath his bed. Great group of friends Troy is hanging out with.
-
Troy ran Luke out of town. He locked him out of his dorm room to smoke weed with his posse. Luke had a basketball stolen from his room that he was going to give his Grandpa at Christmas and that was the last straw. So Troy is hurting this team in more ways than people even know.
-
He is seeing around 20 min a game and literally making millions of dollars. So why is he still supposed to be at IU? If he were still here he would have 6 degrees. Hey maybe Stan could have him go to class for him??
-
The only thing that these two are good at is smoking dope and running their roomates out of town to Marquette.

IU vs Louisville Post Game Thread
Uwe Robb replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wish CTC would play Emmitt and Hanner together. Those two with the 3 guards would be a great lineup for conference play. Sorry Troy and Stan both need to have a seat. -
When referring to Crean's coaching ability why is everyone referencing this years team? I was much more upset about his inability to coach last years team, the #1 overall seed in the tournament past the Sweet 16.

Scouting a potential Crean replacement
Uwe Robb replied to kylehornsbyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree with the people that say let Crean have at least 1 more year. With that being said, I will play along with potential replacements. How in the world has nobody mentioned Jim Crews (Head Coach) and Calbert Cheaney (Asst. Coach)? Both have already played and coached at Indiana. -
I am from Evansville and I heard thru the grapevine (whatever that's worth) that Jaquan couldn't believe that CTC sold out a fundraiser @ Evansville Country Club. He spoke to over 400 people. I believe he was quoted as saying "Coach Crean got more love from my hometown than I do" In my opinion (again, for whatever that's worth) this opened Jaquan's eyes to how good he could have it if he stays in state.
-
Also anybody want to talk about who will be gone next year if we get Jaquan Lyle? By my count that will put us 2 scholarships over. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Bowling Green vs. Miami (OH) Next week Jaquan Lyle? I need some MAC Football in my life.

Get ready to do this all over again in one week. For Jaquan Lyle.
