    NIT

I have said this before, but I see him coming back no matter what happens this year for 1 more year. His buyout is 12 mil and then drops to 6-7 mil in July? They will not pay the 12 mil and they will not fire him that far into the off season. It would doom the next coach coming in.   I would say he needs to make an elite eight run minimum plus a Movement 2.0 recruiting class to keep his job after 2016. My guess is that he and Freddie will both be updating their resume's at the same time.
  2. Uwe would have fit in well on a TC team. 1 good year out of 4.

He is the 6'11" Lithuanian with the Dumb & Dumber haircut.

Great callout. I have been to 3 UE games this year. He is averaging 12 pts 10 reb. Saw his season high against Alabama St 25 & 12. I also saw him put 12 pts & 13 reb on #13 ranked Northern Iowa. So I am pretty sure his skills would translate. Couldn't see him averaging less than 10 & 8.

Not sure Crean is ever left scrambling. We are usually over signed by 2-4 players at any given point in a season and he is still recruiting guards and wings for 2015 class? It just doesn't make sense. If my tuition money was going towards his traveling expenses to watch a 2015 wing player I would be asking for a refund.

    (2018) PG Robin Duncan

So was the person mentioned in the Courier article the boys mother?   That is very sad. I remember that tornado, they had to be very young. I remember hearing they were from originally from LA or somewhere in SoCal?

You are definitely correct in everything you say about them not being in any trouble and acting the way the right way on the court. As I stated in all of my previous posts. I did not know any details or have any reliable sources, I was just repeating what I had heard thru other avenues. I could definitely see how rumors get spread because I have heard this from numerous people and if what you say is true then there is not much there to it.   P.S. since hearing these rumors about the Duncan boys I asked a couple of my employees about it and one of my employees admitted to holding his kid back (not starting him in Kindergarden until he was 6) with the off chance he was a good athlete. His son now plays varsity basketball and is a starter but fairly mediocre. I guess this happens quite a bit and is very legal within the IHSAA rules.

LOL, It's possible. He is only a freshmen though and I think Incarnate Word has already given up hope to get him though so he has a leg up on Timmy.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GETRN0rDInA   Mario Barnes, Reitz's 6th man, sorry he was the only one on youtube with a mixtape.   Last I heard he had his choices narrowed down to IU-Kokomo & Anderson   If he signs then they will have 6 players with Schollys

  11. This is the big weekend. Pretty fired up for this Reitz @ Southport game. I am hoping it doesn't get cancelled due to bad weather.

Probably not, but I could see 6'7" or 6'8"   Wiltjer just popped into mind, because Robin at first glance looks kind of awkward and somewhat unathletic, but everything he does is very fundamentally sound.

I finally saw this kid play. Ernie was a great High School player. He was about 6' or 6' 1' Everett who has also signed to play with Vermont is about 6'5" and his twin brother is about the same 6'4" or 6' 5". Robin is only a freshmen and is all arms and legs. He looks like he could easily be 6' 5" or bigger before it is over. He has good handles, not great. He was very timid and did not even start the game I watched, but that game was against Reitz who is the #1 team in the state and presses the entire game. If this kid keeps developing his handles and his shot he could be a very good D-1 player. I would say if he were to turn out to be a Kyle Wiltjer type player then it wouldn't surprise me.

    Jordan Fuchs to play?

Who knew it would be Coach Wilson's recruiting prowess that would save Crean's job and not his own.
  17. Makes you wonder what went on before that shove? You wouldn't think that was the first aggressive thing to happen if everyone reacted that quickly.

I was at every single one of those games.

I don't understand? If everybody is saying he was afraid of us and he didn't want to play us then we gave into his wishes by not playing him.   We should still be playing this game. I don't care where and who gets to see it. They can play it in Cook Hall with no audience. It should still be played EVERY year!!!!

(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Greater minds than mine may know the answer if April was to not play another minute the rest of the year would he be eligible for a redshirt? This is one of my many theories. Crean already knows he will be gone next year so he is doing him a favor by securing him another year of playing time at a different school? Too crazy?

    The sky is falling

Agreed. Sometimes I even forget he is only a Soph. He has been great, and if he improves half and much as he did between last year and this year then we are all in for a show.

    OT: Trey Lyles

I have a "buddy" I use the term loosely due to his choice of team to root for, but he owns a restaurant in Lexington and he is telling me that he has developed Rheumatic fever due to a case of Strep Throat.   I have no cluse what that is or if it is true, just wanted to throw out the word around town in Lexington.

Also, this. Victor has 2,632 tweets and Troy has 45,300 tweets. This is easy to dismiss, but I have heard George Karl say in an interview that NBA GM's look at this stuff to see who is devoted to getting better and who is just getting by and having a good time.   If a veteran NBA coach and a team like the Utah Jazz are taking this into factor then I would say it matters just a little bit.

Sorry I did go a little heavy on Troy, but the point of my post was that there are lessons to be taught to each player. Troy was easy target  becuase he has arguably the most to gain by putting in work and getting better. Also the best players and the leaders are often times the best players to make an example out of. It proves to your team that nobody in untouchable. I just think he needs to start teaching some lessons when it comes to defense especially.   Troy although much improved still struggles with bad turnovers far too often. This could be his lesson to learn and improve on.   You mentioned strength, maybe Troy and Yogi can get with JBJ in the off season and help him improve this aspect of his game and in turn JBJ and Yogi can get with Troy and help on his shot. If Troy had even an 18 ft jumper he would be gone after this year. Just my opinion.

    The sky is falling

I love it when people try to credit Crean for the development of Oladipo. But then do not think it's his fault when someone like Troy or Hanner fails to live up to his potential. You can't have it both ways.   He plays a huge part in every one of his players development. I give him all the credit in the world for developing Vic, but I also hold him accountable when this team plays horrible defense.   Vic spent all of his free time in Cook Hall, if I am Troy and I made the jump to 30th or 50th or 80th or whatever he is now on the draft boards. I look at Victor Oladipo and say I am just as good an athlete as the 2nd overall pick in the NBA draft, so your telling me all I have to do is put in a little extra time and effort? I realize Vic put in a lot of time and effort, but that is literally the easiest part of the equation.   Troy, so if you are reading this spend a few less minutes per day tweeting and matching your shoes to your outfit and knock down a few jumpers and make 15 mil a year for the next 10 years. - Sincerely Tom Crean
