(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU
SWEETLEMONbrown replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Posted Nov. 25th, Bryant's mother stated that Bryant's list has "been realistically trimmed to IU and Syracuse, it might be down to one soon. Thomas has always told me that Syracuse was the leader. " As for the failed drug tests and other mis haps, his mother stated, "They have a lot going on" "it seems like we went down there under false pretenses, they didn't tell us anything about failed drug tests or that type of thing going on, my son doesn't need to be around that stuff" -

Holt can do just as good as Parea. Holt could probably let someone score over him. And then never get rebounds. So yeah. Try him. -
Last year we saw Yogi go off as a scorer. Supplying Indiana with most of it's offense. He received plenty of credit for all of his shooting improvements along with his percentage improvements. However, this season he has JBJ and Zeisloft to take some of the outside scoring from him. Obviously it will boost up his assist totals, but how will it affect his NBA draft value? Could this boost his value? Or could it lessen his value?
-
Why is Nick Zeisloft referred to as Z3? It's been bothering me and I just gotta know.

Just answer me this. It's simple.

This year for Yogi, what will it change?
SWEETLEMONbrown replied to SWEETLEMONbrown's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I care more about this IU career that anything else. I'm basically wondering if he'll be here for all 4 years. Or if his gone after this year. -

As risky as it is... He seriously executes it usually 9 times out of 10. I don't know how he does it but it usually opens the guy on the wing up pretty well. Not saying it's a smart move. However, once it becomes a major issue from turnovers, I'm fine with it. -
Stan and Troy suspended for failed drug tests..
SWEETLEMONbrown replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
How do you fail MULTIPLE drug tests!?!? Fool me once, shame on you (pshh). Fool me twice then this season is going to have a slow start. -
Not trying to start a major thread here. Just have some opinionated questions. Will Yogi ever be an NBA caliber player? If so, will he stay all four years? If he does leave early, who will replace our McDonald's All-American PG? Will it be easy to replace Yogi? Or will it be like trying to replace Noah Vonleh as we scrape the bottom of the barrel for any bigs. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

2011-12, 2012-13 all we have? Can it ever happen again?
SWEETLEMONbrown posted a topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
When indiana recruited Cody Zeller, he was a huge recruit that put indiana back on the map. Along with Cody, Victor developed into the player he could be. Indiana got the best out of Victor and got plenty from Cody (maybe wasn't NBA ready). But were those two seasons a fluke? Did they just have the best team that they could have? Pure shooter: Jordan Hulls. Athletic 7': Cody Zeller. Powerful finisher and all-around player: Victor Oladipo. Lightening quick and crisp passer: Yogi Ferrell. Shooter and all around small forward: Christian Watford. Was that a team that had the perfect amount of experience and talent? Could indiana have a TEAM that well developed again? Or will it begin to recruit one and done's (Noah Vonleh)? And develop somewhat ball hogs (maybe Yogi)? A true winning TEAM cannot be based off of either of those. Can Indiana have a talented and experienced group any time within the next 5 years? Please post your opinions. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Too many variables IMO to say for sure over the next five years. Theoretically, it is possible. In this day and age of college basketball, recruiting classes have to be composed of elite talent and then raw talent that can be coached up. We have seen the benefit of developed talent in Oladipo. We've also seen the benefits of one and dones like Vonleh and Eric Gordon. A healthy mix is crucial- UK has, other than a few exceptional seasons, showed the issues of taking nothing but ones and dones. Programs need stability. We need to recruit the right number of prospects who will develop into a strong supporting cast to pair with our stars. With the right roster management and training/work ethic I don't think it is impossible for IU to have a great, well-rounded team soon.
I agree with that 100%. I also do not think that CTC is in any need of being fired as head coach. This is only his first unsuccessful season. Besides the team he inherited his first year coaching the Hoosiers. I completely agree. Yogi was practically our whole offense on occasions. (ie:Indiana's victory over Michigan) He did what he had to do to get the Hoosiers points. But that's the problem. Yogi should not have to do that. He should not have to be the only option. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
