You nailed some of the points.  Most IU fans know the game of basketball and have a ball in their hands by the time they are crawling/walking.  Watching what we have now on the floor, I get sickened by the utter lack of offensive movement in the half-court.     I really don't think we are that hard to please though.  If/When we have a coach (maybe Crean will end up being the guy) that takes us to the tourney year in and year out and challenges for national titles every 3-5 years, I think we'd be pretty content as a fanbase.   I look at the run Knight had, making it to the championship game every 5 years or so up to 93.  I'd say most of the fanbase was pretty united behind him until the mid-late 90s.  I look at Coach K at Duke.  Made the tourney every year since 82 (can't count 93 or whatever when he was out most the year cause he left the team 9-3) and has 4 national titles (making deep runs every 3-5 years or so).  Everyone will have their quick outs, but I think most people just want to challenge for BiG championships, make the tourney year in and year out, and make a deep run every 3-5 years.

I said at the beginning of the year, if we miss the tourney this year I am ready for the hot seat. Fail again next year, get a new coach. The rebuild was over 2 years ago and Indiana is a program that I fully expect in the tourney every year with at least a shot at making a national title run. I'm tired of seeing Ohio state, Michigan state, Wisconsin, having great teams year in and year out...obviously their system works for them to handle departures, transfers, injuries,etc... I don't think IU basketball is a joke, however, they laid a huge turd for all but 5-8 minutes tonight.  I wasn't expecting a victory against a top-5 team at their place, but I was expecting us to play hard for the whole game and give our best shot.  i don't believe we did that tonight.

Well we have come out completely flat in the 2nd half.....i just hope this game is used by our players in a positive way to grow up fast!  some positive things to look at in the latter stages of the 1st half, but pretty much nada here in the 2nd.

I can tell you how....It's the same reason Crean is like 0-9 or whatever against Wisky.  Just keep your fingers crossed that as long as CTC is in Bloomington, we don't play Wisky or Syracuse in the tournament.
