Notice they did it quietly too...either they know something we don't, or they just want to be on the safe side in case he commits this weekend. If he commits, they look like geniuses. If no commit? Still time to change it later.

No one has answered my question haha...I can't see a reason why he would want to come on an official so bad. He wanted to come last weekend too. Is there something time sensitive? Unless he just really misses breakfast buddies (GOD knows I do!) then why would he want to come so bad? Does he think his potential spot will get taken? Could it have to do with JB2?
  3. Come on...have you been paying attention? It sounds as if Devin Rob is 99% NOT coming to IU and James Blackmon was 99% not is 95% NOT coming to IU. Hope may be growing, but odds are a hangover is the only addition that happens in the next two days.

it sounds like, to me, that he's in a rush to come on his OV. What's the deal here?
  5. Part of success is strategy. Clearly the better strategy to being the 'star' of a team right off the bat and going high in the draft as early as possible is going to a place with less competition. Just because an option is an easier path to PT doesn't mean it's taking the easy way out. Just doing what he thinks is best for him. Recruiting is like dating, you gotta make sure what you've got to offer is the most attractive. How many times did any of you pass on the single girl who's an 8 (Florida) for the girl in a committed relationship who's a 9 (IU) just because the 9 said "well, you can compete for my affection"?
  6. But he didn't. Can't fault him for that, why not explore your options? Especially if you are under the assumption that the school wants YOU, not just any player at your position, which has been Crean's MO with a lot of our high recruits. pretty much every top 50 recruit is going to wait, draw out the suspense, build the hype around themselves, and make it an official announcement after all their OV's are done. ROJO did it, Cody did it, and most of the players in this years class have. There are exceptions (Vonleh). Bottom line is it's never going to HELP land a recruit to offer someone else at his position, no matter what the coach says. In general, it opens the possibility of hurting feelings and questioning a schools true commitment to you. If some believe JBJ is having second thoughts on UK because of the Devin Booker recruitment, why can't the same apply here?
  7. because he already has to work past hollowell, williams, etherington, collin hartman, and to some extent devin davis. His advantage was that he's a better shooter. Now he has to compete with hoetzel, another shooter, as well? Imagine you're getting a job. It's all set, pretty much a done deal, but then your boss says that 'just in case' it doesn't work out, we've hired a competitor/replacement for you. Not gonna make you happy to take that job. Not saying its right, but from his perspective? Feels like a slight, why deal with all that? On a side note, I'm fairly certain the Robinson decision played a role in Hoetzel taking an OV and committing the same week he was offered.
