Here is my non insider prediction. The top decision makers have probably had several talks on what to do. I am guessing they thought firing a guy who still has a chance to turn the season around would be bad. They probably hate the situation they are in and are just trying to ride this out as long as they can. I bet if purdue and wisconsin are blowout losses they may move on. My daughter is a relatively new fan. Like maybe last 3 years. Anyhow just giving the perspective that she cares and is sad when we lose. I try to tell her we suck and are probably not going to win but she still gets her hopes up. Anyhow point is the younger kids have passion and want us to win.
