Who would you hire to replace CTC?
Feaskb01 replied to KelleyHoosh's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm sorry but if Dane Fife became the coach of IU, I would be very upset. The few encounters I have had with him have not been good. I perceive him as a sleeze ball who, unfortunately, is probably going to benefit greatly from being on Izzo's staff. Of all the former players, Fife would be my last pick for a head coach. Heck, give me 200 lb Coverdale before him. -

Ok, I have not read any responses on this topic but I have three guys that may not be on the radar right now, mainly because I don't believe we need to be looking for a new coach right now, but maybe 2-3 years down the road. Tommy Amaker at Harvard, I understand that he was terrible at Michigan, but he has been around alot of great programs in college basketball, asst. at Duke and head coach at Seton Hall, Michigan, and Harvard. He has lead Harvard to its only 2 NCAA tournament wins in school history this year and last year. He is winning recruiting battles for solid players against good programs in the northeast, and he was a point guard in college. Archie Miller at Dayton. I watched, as I'm sure many of you did, their game against OSU in the 1st (2nd) round of the tourney. Dayton looked like the better team throughout that whole game. I don't really like his older brother Sean (coach at Zona), but I think he is a great coach. Archie has been an assistant at Western Kentucky, NC State, Arizona St, OSU, and Arizona. He has literally coached all over the country in a span of 10 years. Jim Crews at Saint Louis. Ok, I don't know if there is a reason why his name has not been mentioned more often in this aspect, but if there is a reason please let me know. I think he is a great coach and going from St. Louis to his alma mater has to be a dream come true. I literally just threw these 3 names out there, I think all 3 are viable options, even though I still do not believe we need a new coach. -
What a joke that this writer actually thinks recruits from Indiana are going to schools in bordering states because of the negativity surrounding Crean on the internet. I thought at the beginning of the article this guy said he was NOT a Tom Crean apologist. I absolutely cringe when I see players like Mitch McGary leading MICHIGAN to a Final Four, or Gary Harris just tearing it up in East Lansing, the list can go on and on (Harris at WVU, Smith- Rivera at GTown, GRIII at Mich). I understand that CTC cant pull all of these players, but when there is a top player in Indiana, I expect IU to be in the thick of things right down to the end. I dont want CTC fired. I think it would put a halt on any sort of momentum this program has, but there is a sense of urgency now. CTC just needs to make sure that each position has at least 1 scholarship player, otherwise we run into the problems we are having now.

The Temple game is what got me very nervous for the Syracuse game.
-
Khalif Wyatt was the dude from Temple that went bonkers against us in the tournament last year. Remember it like it was yesterday, I was sitting in a beach side bar watching IU in the NCAA Tournament. Now, i'm just sitting at a beach side bar
-
He scored? I coulda swore only 1 guy scored from Temple in that game.
-
I saw on Twitter that he was looking to transfer. I didn't know if he was a big guy or not. I don't remember but how did he do against IU last year in the tournament?
-
This is every player at IU right now besides Yogi, lost in the "offense"

When are the NIT participants announced?

Hopefully Javy Baez and Kris Bryant will give him a reason to smile this year -
When are the NIT participants announced?

garsh....I really wish we didn't have to even CARE to ask when the NIT drawings are. I get upset thinking about it... -
This isn't a BR story, they always post articles from other news sources, and this is the case here. This is just a story saying Woodson has no interest in the job. First off, that is BS. I'd be willing to bet that Woodson would love to get out of the NBA and coach his alma mater. I just don't buy the fact that it is Crean's time to go, whether the "boosters" want him gone or not. But....in the end, money rules all things in college sports, and if IU thinks that CTC isn't the longterm answer at coach, why not fire him when the boosters are on your side and are willing to dish out the money for a buyout.

http://deadspin.com/kentucky-fan-says-uk-needs-to-emphasize-more-sports-le-1482578966 Take 5 minutes to listen to this radio caller on a UK radio station talking about how they need to emphasize sports, not education, at UK. It is truly great.

The responses to articles on Deadspin are always hilarious. I could read that site all day long.

I don't know about any of you other guy or gals, but College Basketball is by far my favorite sport to bet. I think maybe we should have a forum on here specifically for betting. People can post what they think are great bets and other people can argue why those bets will be completely wrong. I think it is just an interesting topic and the reason I brought it up was because some of the lines for the opening night of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Indiana is a 6.5 point underdog on the road at #4 Cuse #23 Iowa is a whopping 9.5 point favorite at home versus Notre Dame (this one really surprised me) Illinois is a 3 point underdog at Georgia Tech #22 Michigan is a 7 point underdog at #10 Duke (this also surprised me, but the loss to Arizona probably moved the line from around 9 or 10 down to 7) Penn State is a 13 point underdog at Pitt Minnesota is a 3 point favorite at home versus Florida St. I was surprised that ND is a bigger road underdog than IU, considering their opponents. My unbiased opinion on these games(yeah right) I got IU and ND taking the points, and GaTech and Duke laying the points. I did not bet the other two games. FYI, I get all of my lines from www.sportsbook.com. The floor is yours.

(2014) PG Dante Exum to NBA
Feaskb01 replied to JSHoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This kid is projected on some sites ahead of Randle. He gone. Not a huge deal though, would have been a great get but I always felt it was a long shot. He will be a stud in the NBA. -
Michigan goes with Stauskas this year. If he averages 30 a game then they will be good. Thankfully, that will not happen. I can't wait for the Vonleh McGary matchup. I feel if Vonleh stays outs of foul trouble, we can be in any game with any team at any time.

Indiana vs Washington Post-Game Thread
Feaskb01 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think it is pretty crazy to compare Troy and Jeremy coming straight out of high school, and even now. Troy is such a better basketball player and athlete. Jeremy reminds me of Watford but not near the shooter, which is a player who can't dribble and create for himself. He also cant rebound like Watford could. Also. If Zeller had the rebounding and defensive ability that Vonleh has now, he would have led us to at least a Final Four last year. I just love the way he attacks the ball on the boards. -
Now that Mallory is gone....
Feaskb01 replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I know this is football we are talking about. I am saying that I think ND is going to fire Diaco because he has had one good defense at ND (granted it led them to a National Championship) and 90% of the reason that defense was good was Manti Te'o. I don't honestly think Diaco would ever go to IU, it was more of a shot at him than anything. -

You can have Bob Diaco (current ND D Coordinator). He schemes his defense as if he has a 3 TD lead at all times so it might work with an offense like IU. -
OT: LOL, Illinois fans react to Cliff Alexander Decision

Imagine being a Illini fan yesterday. Quentin Snider decommits and goes to his home town team (Louisville), then the home town kid, Cliff Alexander, leaves and goes to Kansas! Ha! Sucks to be John Groce... -

I kept hearing that on the broadcast last night, "Wiggins has the highest ceiling". From what I saw, Parker looked like a bonafide superstar in the making. That one handed alley-oop was amazing, and his step back jumper, being 6 foot 8, is going to unstoppable when he perfects it. After watching all 3 play, granted its early and only one game, i'd put my money on Parker being the best of them all. Only time will tell. -

I see no way IU isn't in this tournament next year in Indy. They should be the first team asked, if they haven't been already. It is exciting to think that IU is going to be on the level of those teams next year. They all looked extremely good. The 3 freshman, Parker, Randle, and Wiggins are the real deal
