    Etherington to Butler

No kidding? Learn something new everyday. Look forward to IU beating him and the Bulldogs in Indy next season then.

    Etherington to Butler

I would imagine he has to sit out a year before playing. So we may not get that opportunity.

    JBjr's shooting comparison

Reggie Miller ( I kid, I kid) But I'd say he's right up there with those guys shooting wise. The dude can flat out get buckets any way you can imagine though.

(2014) C Jeremiah April to IU

Oh Boy....I know its a big man that committed, but yeesh if this is the answer to our frontline ?'s. Looks like he plays some great talent out there in Arizona too  All jokes aside, welcome to the Hoosiers Mr. April

    2015 In-state Recruiting

Lately it has seemed like most the Indiana talent is going to Michigan and Ohio to play. It's the cool thing to do now a days.

    Coach Cal

OK, I want to make this point clear before I post this. I hate 3 schools equally in USC, Kentucky, and Michigan. I think Coach Cal is a sleezeball and I would never want him to coach at IU. But.....   How could you argue with his results? Cal has been at Kentucky since the 2009-10 season. In those 5 seasons, he has won the SEC 2x, SEC Tourney 2x, Elite 8 3x, Final Four 2x, 1 National Runner-Up, and 1 National Title. The man knows how to win.   This is not a "I wish we had Coach Cal instead of Tom Crean thread". I think Crean is a good coach, he just needs to find an identity for this program ( Kind of like what Kevin Ollie has done at UCONN).    My question is. If Coach Cal came to IU and has the same results he had at Kentucky, would IU fans be complaining about how he cheats and only cares about winning and not the STUDENT athlete? I think it is an interesting question.
  7. Boy I sure hope you are right......with the way I have seen players progress in this system....I only have full confidence in one player currently on this team (yogi) after that...its a whole bunch of ?'s

    Coach Cal

I understand your point about the sanctions and how everything would be vacated. I know that is Cal's track record, but who is to say he is actually cheating at UK? I think he is just taking advantage of the system ( 1 and done). And when you win with a certain system, usually players want to become a part of that

    Who do you root for?

In the next collective bargaining agreement they have to do away with these huge contracts. The MLB is the last major sport in this country to not have a max contract length or dollar amount and its about time they make that change. These contracts will never ever ever work in the benefit of the team.
  10. Ok, I went to IU, but my football fandom begins and ends on Saturday's. I will root for them to win against every team in the country besides one. Being a Notre Dame fan, I envy your offense. ND has better athletes and yet the offense is routinely outperformed by IU's every year, with lower level athletes. So you got that  going for ya, but that defense? I wont go there. I think Kevin Wilson is a great coach but I always question people when they come out of that Oklahoma program. Stoops is a shady character who year by year has had the worst graduation rate in the Big 12. From the looks of it KW has the program going in the right direction and who knows maybe in a couple years IU and ND will be battling for football recruits.

    Who do you root for?

I think it is a must for a Cubs fan to say, "This is the year", every year. It doesn't matter if we mean it or not. I don't think THIS year is our year, as the saying goes. I think NEXT year is the year the Cubs start competing

    Who do you root for?

Yes I did and you aren't lying. I love Deadspin, odds are if it has been on that site in the past 5 years, I have seen it.

    Twitter, who do you follow?

Fake Bo Pelini is a great follow @FauxPelini

    Who do you root for?

Cubs fan, obviously <<<---. I think the addition of Clark the Cub is gonna do wonders for the franchise, he brings a real winning attitude to the clubhouse and I am looking forward to that.    In all seriousness though, one more year of heartache in Wrigleyville then the Cubbies will start competing, at least they will be able to score runs to compete. Most of the pitching will need to come through free agency, but the offense is looking like it could be top notch in a couple years.

    Crean the Good Guy

Cool move from Crean. Wish all the best for Patrick and the McCaffery family
  16. I have a sneaky suspicion that everyone on this board will be rooting for a UCONN win over ISU toniight. I know I am.

Some guy on ESPN was kind of dissing Crean tonight

Gottlieb is a trash spewing turd fart. I cringe every time I hear that little pibsqueak talk. He can talk all the crap he wants about Crean and IU. I wish I could cuss on this site because I have always had a problem with him and the way he "analyzes" sports.    Rant Over.

Oladipo just Broke Mo Williams Ankles...

Kid is gonna be a star in the NBA in a few years. I have never been a fan of an NBA team specifically, I have always just followed LeBron, even in his high school days. But I can tell you that I am a Orlando Magic fan now. With Vic and Vucevic there as a young core to build around, I think the future is bright there.

    2014/2015 Outlook

One of my main issues with CTC this year was his "allotted minutes" that he seemed to have. I coached 4th and 5th grade bball at lighthouse Christian in bloomington while I was at IU. 17 players and we had to play them all, but this is 4th and 5th grade. At the highest level of college bball, the players that EARN minutes, deserve the minutes. With all of these transfers (mostly of players that didn't really bring much on the court), the players who we want on the court, are going to be on the court much more now. This is my absolute "glass half full" perception of these departures.

    James blackmon jr

Dude can flat out score, I'm not sure there is a better pure scorer coming out of high school than JBJ. Really excited to see what him and Yogi can do in the back court together.

    Hollowell & Etherington transferring..

These are the two players that frustrated me the most in their time at IU. JH was so promising coming out of high school, and even with a year under his belt,  the second Troy Williams stepped foot in Bloomington he was a better player than JH. Etherington could have been a great piece to a winning basketball team, but he couldnt/wouldnt do what he came to IU to do, shoot the 3 ball.    Best of luck to them in the future, but I don't see either of them significantly improving their game.   IMO this is not a bad thing for IU. I will always be disappointed  when a player wants to leave IU for other reasons than graduation and NBA. But, this will open up more minutes for JBJ, Rojo, Troy, Hanner, Stanford, and even Hoetzel.

    Good bye Noah V.

Understandable. I guess they are just kids and there goal is the NBA, and if the NBA comes calling, might as well take advantage.
  23. Feaskb01

    Good bye Noah V.

I don't fault him for going pro. I am always happy for someone who moves on to something bigger and better in life. But, his only fault, from what I have read from scouts and such, is that he just isn't quite NBA ready. Multiple people have said that he needs to develop a swagger on the court to really reach his ceiling. I am not sure that being a 19 year old, developing PF in the NBA is the best way to do that. I hope he succeeds, and I believe he eventually will, but I think it is going to take a little bit longer than expected
  24. Feaskb01

    Good bye Noah V.

I think its safe to say that the Noah Vonleh project was a failure. I never really saw progress in him throughout the season. I read somewhere that a NBA GM said that he may need a whole year in the NBDL before he is ready for the pro's. That means that Noah saw no way he was going to improve at IU, so might as well go get paid to play and improve his game while he is at it.    I remember the night he committed. I was at Dunkirk and I yelled out "Vonleh committed!", the whole bar erupted.   Best of luck to him in the NBA, I think he can be a star up there.

    5th Year Transfers

With Vonleh all but gone to the NBA, are there any 5th year transfers we should keep an eye on? I would think that if you were a big man with one more year of eligibility left, IU would be close to the top of preferred destinations.    Also, while we are on the topic of 5th years,I thought this was pretty interesting. Mo Creek left IU for GWU and I bet he never thought he would be making the NCAA Tournament and not his old teammates here at IU. Evan Gordon came from ASU, who made the NCAA Tournament. These 2 things can't help the mindset of other guys thinking about coming in for their last year of college basketball.
