I came on here to post something about him coming to Hoosier Hysteria. Say he wants to join the team, when and how would that work?

This is going to kill collegiate athletics as we know it. There are only a handful of Athletic Departments that even make money. How can we expect the schools who don't make money to keep up with the big boys  (Texas, Alabama, OSU, ND, Florida etc). It is really going to put a lot of schools in a tough position.    I always liked the idea of paying athletes, especially the ones that make the school money. But this is going to open a Pandora's box and I don't know if I see it ending well. If you pay your starting QB X amount of money, will the 3rd string OL understand that he is not going to get as much, or will he want the same amount. How about baseball players, who bring absolutely no money into an athletic department.    It will be interesting to see what sort of changes this brings.

James Franklin is testifying in court today regarding the rape case at Vanderbilt. Said he lied to team about seeing video, and has never actually saw it. Not real sure why you would lie about that but....he's  a scumbag so I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

Yup, more picks than TD's. In his defense though, he doesn't have much talent around him. He is still an above average QB in the B1G, and he is only a true sophomore. 

Just a little tidbit I read on Rivals this morning. Mike Farrell, who is the recruiting director at Rivals (and IMO a hack) has said since Wimbush's flip from PSU, that they will possibly  try and go after Tommy Stevens. Just something I read in an article so I have no idea the truth to it. Yeah the writing was on the wall after his visit. After he left South Bend he told a reporter from Rivals that he needed to go home and spend the next 24 hours "rethinking his life decisions". After he said that, I was pretty confident he was gonna flip. Thats 2 4* recruits that ND has flipped from PSU this recruiting cycle, with Josh Barajas from Andrean being the other.  :cheese: @ PSU

ND was never going to extend an offer to Stevens. Like I said before, the only QB out there that was still looking around that ND would take was Wimbush. Kid is an absolute stud. Looks alot like Everett Golson out of High School, just bigger. Glad ND got him to flip because I highly dislike PSU and ND needed a QB this cycle. They were thinking about passing on one this year, but that is a tough thing to do and the last time ND did it, they were stuck with Tommy Rees at QB. Nobody wants to go through that again.

Yeah I'd take IU and the points in this one. Kirk Farentz (sp?) is so over paid and overrated. IU is due for a good performance in the B1G.

When he was at Vandy, he had a couple commitments back off of their commitment. He came out and said "They were not men of integrity, or men of honor". Then when he first got to Penn St., he flipped two commits and tried to explain to people why it was OK for them to flip.    He was also in the middle of a pretty sketchy rape case at Vandy. Its all a bunch of hearsay, but apparently he knew about a video that one of the players involved had and told him to delete it so it wouldn't be released to the law or the public.   Another message board I am apart of has multiple Penn St fans on there that have had interactions with JF and said he is condescending unless you have something to offer.    I have heard good things about a lot of coaches, hell even Urban Meyer, but I have not heard a single good thing about Franklin. Just not a big fan.

Yeah he was visiting with coaches and other teammates who are all big ND fans I guess. No offense to this kid, but ND had another QB committed elsewhere (PSU, Brandon Wimbush) visiting Saturday and he is probably the only take of any QB left out there for ND. Stevens doesn't really fit Kelly's offense. I would much rather steal a recruit from James "Scumbag" Franklin than IU anyway. 

Jimmy V Classic, December 9th at MSG Villanova will be playing Maryland in the first game. In the second game IU will play Louisville. Just another step in bolstering our out of conference schedule.

Just saw a post on Twitter from Jeff Goodman that he will not be playing at SMU this year, but instead going pro overseas. Apparently there is a NCAA investigation in his amateur status. I would imagine this would change there preseason ranking and maybe hurt IU's out of conference schedule strength. Probably not enough to matter in the long run, but worth noting.

Wow. That would be really really hard to turn down as a senior coming out of high school. I know this option has always been on the table for these kids but I could see this opening the flood gates.

From what I have heard, from being a ND FB fan, is ND is not seriously considering this kid as a recruit. He has visited a few times but I think that was just out of courtesy for his brother, Drue. I would imagine he would rather go to IU than Notre Dame. If ND were to offer though, it would be tough to turn it down.

This dude is the real deal. 21 homers to lead all of baseball (tied with Nelson Cruz). He is also leading all Triple Crown categories in AA Southern League, along with Slugging %, Total Bases, and On Base %.    The future is bright Cubs fans, we just got to be a liiiitttttllle more patient. 

I grill all the time, steak, pork loin, chicken, shrimp. I have two recipes that all my friends and family always compliment me on. They are not original recipes by any means, just things I have learned about over the years.    A-1 Burger: I just put some Lawry's Seasoning Salt on the burgers right before I put them on the grill                    Let the burgers cook until they are about 2 minutes from being done, then put about a spoonful of A-1 sauce on each             side of the patty.                     Put a slice of Swiss cheese on just before the burger is done. ( Sometimes I make grilled sliced mushrooms also)                      Rumaki: Very easy snack food. Just get bacon, whole water chestnuts( it is by all the oriental stuff at the grocery store) and bbq sauce. Wrap said water chestnuts in bacon, cover in bbq sauce then put them in tin foil and grill them for about 45 to an hour. (you're Welcome)

I know I am a little late to the party but gee dangit I am excited that the cubs took Schwarber. I hope he can stay at catcher, what a weapon he would be.

ND is switching to UA. I would imagine that if ND can switch to them, IU would not have a problem. Just because it is UA, does not mean they would wear ridiculous looking jerseys. ND jerseys are going to be SLIGHTLY changed from years past, but it won the first time ND has had slight changes in there uniforms.    I think this is all pointless though. I really hope IU switches to Jordan or Nike, huge upgrade from Adidas in my opinion.

Found ya on the Tweeter. I NEEDED a place to go to vent about IU basketball. Especially after this season.

Everyone does it. But Yogi is held to a higher standard than most people on that campus. I'm not bothered at all by this though. Take the punishment and move on, that's all you can do.

Ya think it is a coincidence that the only schools that publish articles like this are always top notch academic schools like Stanford?
