    The shadiness of this recruitment was brought up last summer by some pretty reliable posters.   The suggestion was made by birdman that the reason Crean backed off the recruitment was due to the shadiness.

    yeh, whatever happened to getting a shot or two in the basket first?  I get that they were packing the lane against us, but we don't even really seem to try to penetrate at the beginning of games sometimes.     I hate that.

I hate it when we come out launching.  Make an easy shot or two first, then you can start getting fancy lol

Nice recap.  Good job.   That game was fun to watch tho.  I saw some improvement from the young guys learning to get the ball to Noah and also others like Jeremy and Troy inside, and Yogi busted their zone on more than one occasion driving straight through it in the second half.   I hate it when the team gets lazy and just launches like it did in the first half.  If you're gonna do that, why don't you just play a game of H-O-R-S-E in front of 17,000 people?   Anyway, I liked some of our defensive play.  Leaving that sharpshooter open in the second half was the unpardonable sin tho lol.   I love Troy, Devin, and Stan.   Would have liked to have seen a little more Stan on the offensive end in the second half.

Add LIU to the list of smaller D-1 schools I really like.   Put them up there with Stony Brook.

    He played for about 5 minutes.  He made a nice defensive stop, but nobody got him the ball on offense, and he did nothing there before Crean pulled him.

OK, well you are following all of the discussions in the news probably a lot closer than I am.   I just watch the games and come to talk in the game threads and read a few topics on message boards like this.   But Mallory has some credentials.  He has two rings, one as a player and one as a coach.   Also, the talent on the defensive side of the ball at IU has almost never in IU history been good enough to compete.   Are you sure the problem is Mallory?

  I agree with you.  Fred Glass has been really good at that job.   If he was to replace Mallory, I think he would try to go out and get a guy who has proven success at a blue blood program and I think the trustees would give him the OK to pay the man as well.   I don't think Mallory is going anywhere tho.  Do you?

    as long as the AD makes a serious investment in the replacement.   I think I want to add tho that the dearth of talent on the defensive side of the ball could be the problem.   around the college football world, people seem to like mallory as a coach.
