Petition for permanent IU script football helmets

I'm a Block IU Trident guy with the interlocking I and U to form the IU Trident.  That's our logo, and I think it is one of the best university logos in college sports, and also one of the best logos in the world of logos.  I also really like the Block I.   On top of that, I also like the new helmets, the helmets from last year, and this year's newbies.   I have to wonder if someone was simply overcome with drunken college gameday zeal when they proposed the petition lol.  Everything is a good idea when you are drunk.  No offense intended to those who think the new script is the greatest helmet ever made.  I just don't agree.  Strongly.  Even if it is an OK helmet.   I just don't think it is better than the Block IU Trident, our logo, or the Block I, our tradition, or the State Flag recently added to the mix, or good enough to forfeit our freedom to introduce new helmets in the future.  The new helmets always seem to be wildly popular and fun, and nearly all of them are worth bringing back again.  Keep em coming.  Don't stop now.

    A look at the future

I seem to remember that Atlanta's best guy that year was a free agent and wanted Woodson gone as a term for coming back the following season.

    A look at the future

And Dane Fife would also most certainly understand underage drinking offenses at IU better than many since he was busted when he played for the Hoosiers for illegal consumption, being a minor in a tavern, and possession of false identification lol!

    Lindy's Sports IU Preseason #4

That's a great question, because on the one hand we haven't made the Elite 8 in 13 years, since Mike Davis got us there, and we have only been to 3 Sweet 16's in the last 15 years (imagine that,) which means we are really due now.  But really the IU we all expect to get back to is the IU that went to 8 Elite 8's in 20 years, and 14 Sweet 16's in 20 years.  Anything less than the Elite 8 is a disappointment.  Even while we would cheer a return to the Elite 8 this year, if we did not advance to the Final Four and beyond, we would all probably feel a tremendous sense of loss and a fall from grace that would probably not be consolable by words from coaches, staff, players, AD's, etc.

    Tandon Doss

Maybe we can pick him up and he can play QB, CB, and Safety too!

I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to a run for a title this year.
  12.   How many warnings need to be issued by the mods?
  13. Funny, I don't remember all this shrieking and squawking when Coverdale and Fife were going to jail for Excise violations and fake id's.  In fact, every time I read mention of Coverdale and/or Fife's and/or Sheehey's party crimes for that matter, it is always in a boys will be boys chuckling tone.
  14.       It looks like you did.     I don't see any NBA exec caring about Bryant and Holt's excise violation when evaluating Yogi.   We already had this conversation yesterday.
  15.   Yogi 'runs it' on the floor during games, and he holds guys accountable during games.   Yogi is also a leader in practice.   And more often than not, when you see Yogi run down the court and take the quick shot instead of looking for the play to develop, that is what he is told to do.  That is part of our offense.  Almost always when you see Yogi do that, it is when he has not taken a shot in a while.  Yogi is one of our many scoring options, and he is supposed to shoot from time to time to keep the defense mindful that they have to  defend Yogi's shot too.
  16.   Come on MikeRoberts, he was referencing the incident and Yogi's partying, and he was right to do that.   I hope Yogi's and anybody else's partying on the team does not cost us a win or two this year.   We have a chance to do something really special this year, and every one of those possible W's is big when you have a shot at a title.   Let's not get carried away and say that an NBA exec is going to be turned off by Yogi's level of partying.  Yogi's partying is normal college partying.  It is not the kind of partying that causes a front office to stamp your resume with a big RED FLAG
  17.   Ok then I disagree.     I am pretty confident Tom Crean was referencing Yogi's lack of babysitting skills.   Yogi is a pretty d@m# good point guard.   Tom Crean often asks Yogi Ferrell what he thinks IU should be doing at points in big games.
  18.   And you blame Yogi Ferrell specifically for that?
  19.   Do you think Tom Crean was talking about the Welcome Week incident or do you think Tom Crean was referencing Yogi's entire body of work when he said that?
  20.   Do you think Yogi is not a leader?
  21.   If you think an NBA exec is going to shoot Yogi down because Holt and Bryant got popped by Excise for an unopened bottle of vodka during Welcome Week, I would have to disagree with that.

I just think 28 and 47 should be our bad years on defense, not our good years.  That's all.     Defense in the 200's and 300's is inexcusable.

    Tim Beckham fired from Illinois

The University of Illinois takes its tradition of scandals very seriously and this year they seem determined to smash some All Time Records.   I do enjoy the Illinois stories.   Keep em comin boyz!

I agree.  Our defense has been terrible for years now.  That is my greatest complaint of the Crean era.   That is the key.  Can we dominate on defense.   The big games we won with Zeller and Oladipo turned on big plays on defense.
