Because it does nothing. They pick a school that fits them. Not the one that has the most fans showing love.

(2016) SG Rawle Alkins to Arizona
HoosierD replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Can I ask why Blackwell over Bridges? -
Yogi > Ulis Blackmon < Briscoe Troy > Mathews Hartman < Poythress Hanner < Skal Rob > Hawkins Holt > Willis The rest of IU roster > UK walk-ons I can understand where UK could be better but I'm not sold that this mixture of guys will work out this year. Extremely young and a couple of the incoming guys are very raw. IU brings back experience and talent. TB fills a need for an IU team that could be way better than last year with a quality big man. At UK he is added to a mix of guys that may only confuse things more as they have to figure it all out. With IU it is already figured out, they need size (he brings that), need toughness (he brings that), defense (he brings that). He's the missing link to a team that was a quality big man away from being a very good team. I can see both sides of the argument, but I am definitely more sold on the IU side than I am UK.

Why? He's not gonna make the team any better.

I think.......... Indiana All-Stars @indallstars 18h Indiana All-Stars win 118-79 over Jr. Boys https://twitter.com/indallstars/status/608100689718341632

There are typically only 13 players, so an extra spot was added this year to incorporate him.

Might as well be greedy and ask for Bridges instead of Blackwell. -
2015 Transfers and Early Entries
HoosierD replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think he is giving UM too much credit and underselling IU but that's just my opinion. I also think everyone is forgetting Purdue. I hate saying that but they return everything except Octeus. If they can get a 5th year of transfer they will be in the mix at the top. The B1G is going to be a blast next year. This will be the best it has been in how long? -
Last I read he had just said his first word.

Numbers lie in this case. Verdell was on some of the worst IU teams ever. Yogi hasn't been on the best these last two years, but I can guarantee you they would kill the teams Verdell was on his first 3 years. I didn't say he made the team better. I just said a player working to become an NBA player is a good thing and is not bad for the program. If they are trying to be an NBA player then they are working on being a better player, and tightening up on any weaknesses they may have, which leads to them being a better basketball player and that helps out the team they are currently on.
-
If a player is working hard on their game to become an NBA player, then they are absolutely helping the program.

I quit reading this as soon as you said his production is slightly better than Verdell Jones.

The UE left fielder catch was #1 on SportsCenter.

Indianapolis Colts Off-Season Thread
HoosierD replied to Dalton26's topic in National Football League
It's a little odd that they had to keep some info out of the case. Sounds like he had a better chance at being not guilty in this one than the other case. -
I don't think the issue is players not being skilled, bc they are very skilled these days. The problem is they are skilled with the ball in their hands and at putting the ball on the floor. This leads to them not being as good at shooting, moving without the ball, and passing. Too much individual work with the ball and not enough of just playing pick up games. You can learn the most from playing pick up games with guys who are older, instead it's nothing but individual workouts and aau games.

OFFICIAL: Ferrell returns for Senior Season
HoosierD replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Trust him a ton with recruiting info. Not sure how much to read into this. He could just be reacting like all of us and just thinking that since he's not just saying he's coming back or having his presser at IU, then he's gone. Or he could have heard some stuff. Typically a reliable source tho. -
Thanks, Kentucky for revealing yourself

Watch it again. That was not a natural basketball play. Put about everything he had into it. -

It wasn't quite a punch but more a karate chop. Definitely more than a slap. Should have resulted in an ejection by rule. -
Played on their AAU circuit last summer.

(2015) C Caleb Swanigan to MSU
HoosierD replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This comes from a friend who is a PUke fan. He read it from one of their writers. I think their fans were worried that Barnes and Cuonzo are too good of friends but when asked Barnes said his friendship should not play into what is best for Swanigan. -

Anyone catch the TB "I'm just running down the floor bruh," seemed directed at Giddens who was guarding him? Hopefully they already don't like each other so TB can give it to him every time we play OSU. -

ESPN has him as a 4 and he looked like a 4 during the McD's game.
