OT: Scoring in college basketball
HoosierD replied to sirhoosierlot's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Definitely not mistaking what the point is, bc you just said "taking contact to the chest," well I'll be darned sounds to me like a contact sport. You also set screens, block out, and check cutters, all part of the game and therefore making it a contact sport. -

No need to bank it, just give it to Burton. -
OT: Scoring in college basketball

It is 100% a contact sport. You can make contact when playing the game and it not be a foul. That is a contact sport. There is meant to be contact when playing basketball. Yes some games are hard to watch bc they are so physical, but it is much easier to get through those games than it is to watch a free throw contest. -
OT: Scoring in college basketball

I think it is absolutely a contact sport, for it to not be the players would never come into contact with one another. Baseball is not a contact sport. Basketball is a contact sport. Football is a collision sport. -
I didn't realize we had Thomas Bryant last year.

Had 2 and only one graduated. Ik way too much about Purdue bc my roommate and one of my other friends are die hard fans. I have to listen to everything that's going on with their program lol. I make sure they hear all about IU tho. -

Believe they have a former walk-on that is on scholarship right now, but an understanding that he will lose it if needed. -
From day 1 the Purdue offense would be ran through him.

Is Swanigan that bad of a defender?
-
Rabb reminds you of Randolph or Swanigan does?
-
Never said they did. I replied to a post about Purdue having Hammons guard Troy and sag off.
-
Rabb measured 6-9.75 at Nike hoops summit. Listed as a PF by every major recruiting site that I have seen, while Swanigan is listed as a C. Both will likely have to play PF at the next level. I'm not forgetting that we have TB, I just remember how ridiculous it was that Troy drove right into Hammons and set the ball on a tee for him, over and over again. I hope they do help off of TB and I hope he makes them pay. I think Troy is very good and have always defended him, but he hasn't been the smartest player to this point. If he makes a quarter of the jump oladipo did then he's a first round pick.
-
I hope you're right, but couldn't Swanigan guard Bryant and we are right back in the same situation? This is all fixed if Troy can just shoot next year. Purdue was the worst matchup for last years team, and I won't be able to stand it if it happens again.
-
So is Rabb projected to grow or what? Troy got near the rim last year against Purdue and then Hammons sent everything into the 10th row. I'll agree with you if he has a jump shot next year but until then they will just let him tee it up for Hammons again and again.

Rabb will be the 4 at Cal. Barnes knows Swanigan is going to have to play out on the floor some if he's going to be an NBA player with his size. If he goes to Cal, even if Rabb is their "5," Swanigan would spend more time on the block than Barnes wants him to. At Purdue he is the 4 man and would never have to play the 5. His buddies are at Cal, best basketball situation for him is at Purdue. I guess we'll see what wins out.
-
Barnes wants him to go to the place that fits him the best. He believes that place is Purdue. Swanigan doesn't really want to go to Purdue, so he settled for MSU at first. Think he is now realizing that Purdue is the best fit and that's why this is all going down now. Cal would make a ton of sense if he didn't have to play the 5.

@dandakich: This was the match that ended boxing
-
What a shame. This could have been the year he really made a case for being one of, if not the best ever. Instead he gets wrapped up in all of this and throws it all away.

Actually they had three. Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, and Marshall Plumlee. -
I'm willing to bet his vertical is better than what many think and when he goes to the combine some day, his numbers will be surprising. But I agree in the fact that he's definitely not as explosive as a guy like Gary Harris. JBJ is one of those guys that is so smooth it makes it hard to see how athletic he really is.

No doubt! Unfortunately bc he sent the game into OT.......this guy lost out on $5 on FanDuel.
