Also the other 4 I would list with Yogi would be Andrew Harrison, Tyus Jones, Marcus Paige, and TJ McConnell. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I appreciate you naming them and not getting snappy bc too many on here do that when you disagree with them. And here is my opinion on those 3: Mathieu wasn't and still isn't even the best pg on his team. Appling had a squad around him and still failed to live up to preseason hype. As for Craft, I'll agree I would take him as the best pg in the big ten last year. So last year I would have taken Craft and Brust from Wisconsin bc they both got the job done but they are gone and even if they were back I'm taking Yogi in the top 5 in the nation this year bc he has shooters all around him now. Just my opinion but I feel strongly about it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Any team tht has doubts on embiid health could pass on him an look at a much more ready body for the nba in vonleh. A lot of team I believe or going to be looking at the Greg Odon situation an say do we want to risk such a high pick on someone who has been hurt more than half the season an hurt again. If anything this helps vonleh I could see embiid falling like Davis don't see this has anything to do with vonleh stock Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Maybe Nerlens?
Okay, so I coach 10u boys baseball, and I'm getting so sick of parents. Most of them have been great, but there's a few that are awful. 2nd time I've had this kids parent pull me off the field. There is no pitch count requirement in our league. The league states no more than 4 innings a week, but I keep a close eye on my pitchers because I was seriously injured pitching. So, their son had a rough first inning with walks, but really got going the 2nd inning. He looked awesome, and my pitcher said he was really finding his groove out there. I was letting him go into the 3rd, when his mom pulled me from the field, and started laying in me. Luckily this was right in front of my assistant, and he couldn't believe what happened. These parents keep their kid on a strict regimen, and if I don't follow it word for word they lay into me. I kept my cool, and took their kid out. I'm just so sick of parents right now. I had a kid quit because he wasn't getting enough innings according to his mom. This kid wasn't the best, but I still played him over half the innings. I can't believe how awful these parents are. I told my assistants that this pitcher will not pitch the rest of the season, or won't play the next game. I'm don't thinking these parents can walk on me. Sent from my DROID4 using BtownBanners mobile app
Only advice I have is to not sit the kid because of his parents. Not pitching him the rest of the year is the better option. He still gets to play, but you also get to show the parents that if they want to complain you can solve it by not throwing him. I just hate seeing the kid punished for the parents being jackasses. As for Biggie Swanigan, he seems to be pretty motivated to turn whatever fat he's got into muscle. Not sure he fits the system we have seen but I'd still love to have him bc he is gonna dominate. Idk who brought his name up first but Jared Jeffries seems like a good fit for multiple reasons. Don't know if he or Crean either one are interested in him filling the position but here are some reasons I like the idea: - former IU player, familiar with the environment - recently played in the NBA and had a fairly lengthy career - experience in an NBA scouting role (just heard that here, not sure if true but if so it's a great reason) - big man, would have fit Crean's system perfectly - makes IU look even more family oriented if a guy who has been away from IU for more than 10 yrs and didn't even play for Crean, is welcomed back and placed on staff Didn't he come back for a game earlier this year? Maybe some ties made with Crean then, that could make this a possibility. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
I haven't seen JB play so hard for me to know his game other than highlights. Our entry passes to the post have been terrible in the Crean years, so saying both Troy and Stan can do this is a stretch. Its also a stretch to say Hanner can finish based on 2 years of watching him play. I just made a comment based on how I think teams will play us next year if we have great shooters.
Not talking about entry passes, I'm talking about when they drive and drop off a pass to a wide open teammate, which they have done plenty of times for it to not be a stretch. It's also not a stretch to say Hanner can finish a wide open dunk, but clearly trying to argue a point with you is a lost cause. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
Probably not but after 2 years in the program I have yet to see Hanner hit many shots period. What you will see imo is very tight man to man with an emphasis on help side defense in the post. The tight man to man out front will take our shooters out and the helpside d will neutralize the driving abilities of Troy and Stan. Unless we plan on throwing a lot of alley oops which Crean has no history of doing much of any here, I just don't see how Hanner will help us in the paint other than rebounding. We will also likely see a lot of triangle and twos where Yogi and JB get chased and 3 other defenders play zone. This limits the amount of driving by Troy and Stan and you give them any shot. Plus, normally rebounding would be a concern in this defense unless you consider how small we will be next year.
Can't guard guys like yogi and JB too tight or they go by you and hit pull ups. Don't have to throw oops if the guy steps over. Pretty sure Stan and Troy have shown plenty of capability to drop off a little pass to Hanner and I'm pretty sure he can finish a dunk. All I'm saying is what you said about a shooter being no different than a lottery big as far as offense goes just isn't smart. Plus it's not just one shooter it's multiple shooters coming in.
So I bet all of our opponents will make sure we get really good looks from the outside. Our solid options in the post will make them have to play us this way. A shooter makes more of a difference than a lottery big? Keep em straight I don't quite understand unless its your excuse for why we didn't win last year...no shooters, too many turnovers. Exactly my point in this thread topic.
Uhhhh....shooters space the floor and big guys getting doubled clog it. What are they gonna do pull Hanner's man off him, leaving him wide open from a foot out and double on JBJ? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
