I posted some at Peegs under my initials. I've posted here and on HSN for years under my current name. I usually just read here more than I post, but that's because this board.moves so much faster that by the time I catch up.on a thread, what I would have to say has generally already been said by someone else, usually one of the smarter posters. :).

If you would have asked me 1000 times which of the 360+ division one schools would be the most likely to create unnecessary drama while trying to make what should be a simple announcement, I would have said IU 1000 out of 1000 times without blinking.

There was a day in the past where it was just one. I don’t even remember how it all ended up as two, but there are posters I enjoy interacting with and respect on both. There are posters who annoy the living crap out of me on both too.

We are now on page 1987 of this thread, which is year of our last national championship.

Here is my thing on the watching vs not. Last Wednesday my son had a game the same time as IU. Normally I’d avoid seeing the score and watch it beginning to end when I got home. That night I just kept an eye on the score during timeouts and turned it on where it was when I got home. I won’t be home from church on Sunday right at 12:00, but instead of watching beginning to end I’ll pick up wherever it is. I still watch every game, but if things come up I’m not worried about it. I’m burnt out on the current regime. I have no doubt the fire will return after a change is made.

I’m just throwing this out there for speculation. Clearly there are people more in the know than me, but the following crossed my mind. If I recall correctly, when Mike Davis announced he was stepping down at the end of the season, he did so at a post game press conference after a win, I believe against Penn St. I wonder, win or lose, if history might repeat itself Wednesday night and we get a statement after the NW game that retirement is happening at season’s end. The hope from all parties involved being that that announcement will be enough to silence most of the boos, negativity, etc to get through the next two months.

Are we sure this is IU related? He has lots of other stuff about other teams. If you click the YouTube link it goes to the song Burning Down the House. The whole thing flies over my head. At 47 I don't t think I'm old, but maybe I am.
