Okay, I signed up. I have no idea what I am doing, but what the heck this should be fun. The Basketball Apocalypse has arrived.

I think Yogi will have improved his shot and be among the leaders. Austin if he gets minutes. Of course I think the number of minutes he gets in directly related to how consistently he is hitting the 3. Beyond that Will? Stan? Evan? I just don't know.

Tre seems to have the hot hand right now so I'll go with him. The truth is though as long as our defense is giving up 883 yds per game and 77 points, it doesn't really matter who we start.

1. Kentucky - they represent everything wrong with the world, not just college basketball or college sports, the whole freaking world 2. Purdue - I am an IU fan, therefore I hate Purdue. 3. Wisconsin - Bo Ryan 4. Louisville - their fans aren't that much different in all reality from UK fans, plus I think Pitino is scum 5. Illinois or Ohio St. - flip a coin and pick one and then put the other one at number 6.

That's too bad. He was a bright spot on a pretty bleak defense. It's a shame he won't get a full season of experience under his belt to build on for the future.

McAfee, the punter, just leveled a bigger hit than any IU defensive player yesterday.

I think I'll just go ahead and take that as a good sign.

To start the year I think the lineup looks like this: Yogi Will Noah Jeremy Evan I think Yogi, Will, and Noah are the three constants all year. I think the other two spots might rotate. Luke has a chance once he gets healthy. Maybe/hopefully Troy or Stan make it hard to keep them off the floor. If HMP has improved to the point of legitimately being in this discussion, I will be the happiest guy here.

You know, there is a real good chance if Peyton never came to Indy and made the Colts THE team in Indy that tonight's game would be the Denver Broncos at the Los Angeles Colts.

Kansas - blue blood vs. blue blood a California school - it would be nice to have our face out west for recruiting purposes (maybe San Diego St. - not a traditional power, but a strong program and it would be a nice trip for IU fans.)

A few games this year have felt like a rerun of the Cam Cameron era where ARE would put up 49 pts. but our D would give up 56. I remember once during that period on Gameday Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit both talked one day about how dangerous IU would be if they had just an average defense. I have never played football so I don't know how they dynamic works in a football locker room, but I wonder how long this goes on before someone on the offensive side just goes off and tells the D to get their stuff together.

I am first and foremost a Colts fan. Therefore, I will be cheering for the Colts tonight and whenever they play. Even though Peyton plays for Denver now, I am still a fan of his. Tonight will be the only game I don't cheer for Denver, unless we meet in the playoffs, all season. I want the Colts to win the Super Bowl, but if they can't I want Denver to win it for Peyton's sake.

Here is the thing that really steams me. When UM fumbled the ball near the goal line and we had a chance to drive the field for a go ahead score, my wife looked at me and asked, "Do you think they are going to win?" and my answer to her was, "No." I have sang this same song and danced this same dance with IU football for so many years, that at no point today during the game did I actually believe they would find a way to win. Yet in spite of that gnawing knowing in the pit of my gut we would find a way to screw the pooch and lose the game I still talked myself into holding out hope against hope we wouldn't pee down our legs and that we would pull it out. Then, as inevitably happens with IU football, when your feint hopes are shot down like Matt Painter asking out a prom queen in high school I let myself get mad and worked up over the loss. How the heck can our defense be so bad? It's almost as if our defensive coaches sit around talking in team meetings saying, "You know what would be fun? Let's see just how bad we can be. I mean anyone can try to get better and be good, but let's go the other way with this." Rant over. :angry: :banghead: :bad: :farting_smiley:

I agree. If you're serious about improving as a football program, make a move like a big time football program would. (Like Texas did). I am certainly not in favor of firing anyone on a whim in the middle of the season, but there is absolutely no improvement from week to week. None. It's not fair to anyone on the team to lest this continue. There are enough winnable games left that we can still salvage a bowl game. Don't blow a chance at that by continuing to put an uncompetitive defense on the field.

You know we have a bye week coming up. Perfect time to make a move if we are so inclined.

Normally a game like this would just frustrate me, but this one makes me mad. I am mad that we are showing no progress whatsoever on the defensive side of the ball. How many games are we going to give up playstation numbers? I'll just stop here for now.

If I played on the offensive side of the ball for IU, it would take every ounce of self-control I had not to go off on the defense after a game like this.
