  DD played two minutes.  It's not as much as normal but he did play.     As far as the game goes, here are my random thoughts. * I thought we did a better job of getting Noah the ball in the post.  Obviously that needs to continue.   * The turnovers were a better so that is a plus.   * Stan continues to impress me.   * I didn't pull any hair out watching Troy today. * Austin made me take back some of the things I've said to people about my thoughts on him seeing the floor ever again.   * Better IU teams have struggled against worse PSU  teams up there so I'll just take the win and not worry about the margin.

I hope that run game is ready to go in the rain.    No matter what happens tonight one positive that will come from the game is that we will never have to listen to Dan Dierdorf ruin an NFL game again.  Of all the awful sports announcers out there, he might just be my least favorite, and that is saying something.

For all of my fellow teachers on here and you students too, the Indiana DOE has granted a waiver for today so that it will not have to be made up.  A waiver for tomorrow is possible as well.  I'm guessing it might already be approved because I have already got the "no school" tomorrow text and we have very little snow where I live.  It's colder than a well digger's butt though.  

Can we poach their defensive coordinator?

  Quoting this because hitting "like this" wasn't nearly strong enough.  

  It is cold.  I took the dog out when we got home from church and that was a nasty rain.  I'm wondering if we'll have a delay or ever go back at all after having the last two weeks off.  I just hope they make a decision tonight if at all possible and not wait until 5:00 tomorrow morning.  

  I guess 2 out of 3 on the day isn't bad.  It just hurts that the one I care the most about was the loss.     I have to admit I was nervous earlier, but the Pacers have taken control like the best team should.  

There's a Doug Mallory joke in there somewhere.  

They're also going to have to shoot the ball well like they did yesterday.   We've always played MSU tough under Crean, and hopefully Saturday is no different.     I'm going to be there so we have that going for us too. 

What a way to start the year, best record to date in the NBA.  Here's to hoping they keep it going in Toronto tonight.  

Another New Year's Day spent not watching IU in a New Year's Day bowl game.  One time in my life, I'd like to spend New Year's Day watching IU in a bowl game.  

  I'm not saying I disagree with you and I'm not directing this at you, so don't take it that way, but if Crean did that we'd just read more moaning about his substitution patterns and how he doesnt' let anyone get in a rhythm in the game and probably that he has them afraid to make mistakes.     I can live with a guy screwing up getting a little too aggressive going to the basket, but the cringe-worthy, lazy passes are what I believe he needs to crack down on.  I'm all for using the bench to work on that.  

I'm liking the sub patterns and minutes division a WHOLE lot more today.

Our 3 pt. shooting is keeping us in this.  I never thought I'd be posting that this season.

    I'm sure we'll see Crean hit it hard on the recruiting trail now.  He has always said he's never done recruiting and this is part of the reason why.     If it was the right fit, and it would have to be the right fit, I wouldn't mind finding a junk yard dog type JUCO big man to bring in next year.  It would have to be a guy who we knew would be rock solid to play next year and not be a project.  I prefer to avoid the JUCO route, but considering how thin we are up front going into next year it might be an option if a high caliber '14 big doesn't materialize.     As far as this year goes, this hurts.  I really thought Luke was going to be a contributor going forward.  HMP, the moment is yours.    Finally, give Howard that scholly for the rest of the year, if that is possible.  

Westbrook is out until the All Star break for the Thunder.  I hate to hear that; I never want to see anyone get  hurt.  The reality is though, that as close as the overall best record in the league goes, this might tip the scale in the Pacers favor.
