Something I thought about this morning: The first round of the NIT is during IU's spring break, so students wouldn't be there if there happens to be a home game. Could mean good or bad things for the attendance

I wasn't aware that Wichita St. is 5th in the nation in FG% defense. That makes Marshall a lot more attractive to me

(2017) SF Jordan Tucker- OV 11/30/16
Hoosiers96 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
JEFF RABJOHNS 5:08 PM MARIETTA, Ga. — Four-star 2017 forward Jordan Tucker sat down with Peegs.com for an in-depth conversation about his Indiana official visit, where his recruitment stands what he feels IU could do for him as a basketball player and person. MARIETTA, Ga. — Four-star 2017 forward Jordan Tucker of Wheeler (GA) was amazed by his official visit to Indiana, both while he was on it after he had time to reflect. The 6-foot-7 forward was on campus to see coach Tom Crean’s No. 13 Indiana Hoosiers knock off No. 3 North Carolina in the marquee Wednesday night ESPN game in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Peegs.com traveled to Wheeler High School, on the outskirts of Atlanta, to talk with Tucker and see him play in person. “I loved everything, the atmosphere, the support from the students. I felt it right away. Coach Crean gave me that support, making me feel comfortable,” Tucker told Peegs.com. “Coming to Indiana, telling me what I’m going to do right away, how I’m going to impact the team, how I could be a part of a national championship team. They made me feel I could call Indiana home. It was very welcoming.” Tucker, originally from New York, made the trip with his father. “I was with the team all day while they were preparing for the UNC game. I was watching what they do, watching practice,” Tucker said. “I was with them in the film room. He (Crean) does an unbelievable preparing for the game, and it translates to the floor, too. You saw it. They played a hell of a game.” IU’s Assembly Hall was sold out at more than 17,000 fans, including students who camped out across the street the night before the game and lined up starting at 9 a.m. for a 9:15 p.m. game. “I haven’t seen anything like that,” Tucker said. “I give the players a lot of credit. It’s hard to play in an atmosphere like that, to stay focused.” During halftime of IU’s win over North Carolina, Indiana honored its 1981 national championship team led by Isiah Thomas. Tucker had a chance to meet and get his photo taken with legendary college basketball voice Purdue Person Vitale. “I’ve always wanted to meet him. I’ve seen him on TV since I was little, watching college basketball,” Tucker said. “I felt that was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He’s legendary. I had to get that picture.” Tucker spent time with the IU coaching staff. Crean and Tucker have been in regular contact for a while. “He’s going to develop me and turn me into a pro,” Tucker said. “I have an all-around game. He’s going to touch every part of that and make me more efficient in everything.” This was Tucker’s second time on campus at IU after an earlier unofficial visit over the summer. “I knew the development was good. I know he doesn’t have as much talent as he has had in past years, but he’s shown me that he can do whatever he wants with his players, with however much he has,” Tucker said. “He showed me that whatever players he has, he’s going to developm them and get them better, and that’s everybody, one through 12.” Tucker spent time with all of the current IU players, including guys such as Thomas Bryant, Josh Newkirk, Curtis Jones and Devonte Green. Tucker has known some of those guys for several years. “I was asking about the adjustments, and they said it’s the atmosphere, that they play hard, go hard every day and it just got into them,” Tucker said. “That’s what I need. That’s what stuck out to me.” Indiana was Tucker’s first official visit. His only current planned other official visit is Dec. 13 to Villanova. He initially was planning a spring decision but that has changed. “I think it might be earlier, January, maybe February, that’s my goal,” Tucker said. “I’m definitely trying to commit before the season ends.” -

So did anyone else notice that they went back to switching from man to zone mid possession today? Crean called it out 4 or 5 times and they looked lost -
