What Three Things Will You Be Watching For In Friday's Game?
djsalway replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Stan and Devin - I'm really looking forward to seeing what these two freshmen can do not only in this game, but throughout the season. The biggest thing for me to see with them is what they do on the boards and defensive end. They both bring so much energy and will be key on the defensive side of the ball. Start - Like everyone else has said, we have to start well. No getting behind because this team has 9 seniors who know what it takes. Free Throw Shooting - Once again, I know everyone has said this, but it is a HUGE part of this season. If we can't make free throws, we can't win as many games as we'd like. Remember, we led the country in free throws attempted last year, so a drop off in percentage is a big deal. -
(2014) PG JaQuan Lyle to Oregon

I definitely think he's still going to go after Lyle and then deal with it if we get him. But if Lyle doesn't come here, I think CTC will be happy anyways. -
VIDEO: Indiana Hoosiers Basketball - A Cinematic Ode
djsalway replied to BtownBanners's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Wow. Great film work and I'm very glad I took the time to watch this. It's good to remember the past, but also look forward to where we are going. I will always be thankful for what Jordan, Christian, Derek, Cody, Vic, and Mo did for our program. There's a reason Indiana basketball is back on the map, and it can be mostly attributed to these guys. -
I think I am gonna drink a big glass of kool aid tomorrow night to get myself ready for this game. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2014) PG JaQuan Lyle to Oregon

I'm almost positive they have, probably before the commitment to Louisville, and are still honoring it after he decommitted. If they haven't, better for us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

(2014) PG JaQuan Lyle to Oregon
djsalway replied to All_Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Yeah I totally get that and agree 100%, I'm just saying that there really isn't much of a reason to have them on there other than the fact that he plays in West Virginia. -
I'm sorry, but even if "the voicemail" was a joke, it's still ridiculous for anyone to be using that language, black or white. They are a bunch of grown men, they need to keep themselves under control. I don't want Incognito or Martin back with the Dolphins. I think we need to move on without them.

(2014) PG JaQuan Lyle to Oregon
djsalway replied to All_Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
JaQuan visiting West Virginia and even having them on his list is, to me, a way of keeping a team near him in his race just to keep people in the state happy during basketball season. They aren't nearly as much of a threat as Kansas and Memphis. -
This is about where I'm at right now. There are conflicting stories between the players and the management. It might take a few days to get it sorted out, I just hate that it is such a distraction... I don't want it to take away from winning.

I think we can all agree that it is Syracuse based on how last season ended. There really shouldn't be a person who disagrees with that, IMO.
-
He got cut, but then got resigned early on in the season. Actually having a really good year. Head on over to the "IU Players in the Pros" and look for the Tandon Doss thread. One of the best punt returners this season.

WOW. You might wanna work on that one 41. HAHAHA first time I've legitimately laughed out loud on here in awhile.

You can put J-Shun on here again. He hasn't missed a home game yet. -
I have one problem with us saying that Crean is "keeping him happy." Robert Johnson knows he's good enough to fight for good playing time and we should know it too. Sure, JBJ is really good, but RJ isn't ranked that far behind him. He is going to fit a nice role on this team that will still consist of him playing good minutes, with or without JaQuan. I believe he's gonna surprise a lot of people when he shows up next year.

Disappointing or Overhyped Team So Far?
djsalway replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I think most of us can agree that normally the quarterback change is needed. Like last game, Tre obviously wasn't getting much done, so going to Nate gave us renewed life. It's a luxury to have two starting-caliber quarterbacks, so Wilson can change whenever he needs to. I love that we have depth at that position and that Wilson is willing to make a change (sometimes too late). -
Jaquan Lyle just tweeted..
djsalway replied to Feaskb01's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Personally not reading anything into it. It could be about ANYTHING. We know he likes IU and Crean and we know that Blackmon is probably recruiting him. Not a lot to worry about. -

Those are awesome. But why? Is there a meaning? I'm jealous. One day maybe we will have a good enough defense that Adidas will offer us cool jerseys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I am very impressed with the freshmen over anything else. They are all working so hard to find playing time on this team and their defensive efforts (Troy, Devin, Stan) are amazing. Other than that, the jump that has been made by both Yogi and Hanner is great. They both look like they know their roles on the team. Yogi is a leader, no doubt. Hanner is no longer his awkward self; he looks like he always has a purpose. I think we go as far as these people take us. Sheehey is great, don't get me wrong, but I expect about 12 from him every night, so there was nothing special there. Also, Jeremy has improved and his rebounding is a strength (ballhandling I'm still questionable on), but Jeremy seems lost half of the time. All in all, I love this team and the energy that everyone brings. I think it's going to be a special year for such a young team. Not a B1G championship or a national championship, but still an impressive year overall. Just think about next year guys... Another year for these impressive freshmen to grow. I'm already sensing a deep tourney run. I can't wait.

Actually a buddy just tweeted that he was selling his tickets. I'm picking them up in a few minutes. Balcony, but a part of the experience nonetheless. -

Toledo hit a buzzer-beater in OT to win.
