(2016) SF Jayson Tatum to Duke

http://www.insidethehall.com/2013/10/09/five-star-jayson-tatum-talks-usa-basketball-indiana/ A member of the USA Basketball team that won the gold medal at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Uruguay in June, Tatum averaged 10 points and 4.6 rebounds as a reserve. Indiana is one of the elite schools who has been recruiting Tatum, along with Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and others. “I like Indiana a lot. They have a great coach in coach Crean. He gets his guys to play hard,” he said. “That’s ultimately what a coach needs to do is just get after guys and if you’re playing hard for a coach, that means he’s doing something right. And that’s what Indiana does.”

  6. Haven't heard much here since he left Cathedral. Got a chance to catch some of his and Collin's games last season and really liked his work.
  7. KJ and CTC doing work here. I like this kid to. Heard some more good reviews from this past weekend @ the USA camp.
  8. He was at HH last year and coaches checked out IE in AAU a bit this summer, but I never seen him mentioned a whole lot. Think he has ties with Brandon Dawson. Jalen Coleman moved over to the same AAU team.
  9. http://chicagohoops.hoops247.com/index.php/2011-08-04-18-06-26/2046-barret-benson-talks-indiana-visit Indiana is showing interest in quite a few young prospects in the Chicago area. One of them is 2016 Hinsdale South center Barret Benson. He is the top low post prospect in the sophomore class in state because of his ability to score with his back to the basket, run the floor for his size, and rebound. We spoke with Benson about his visit to Indiana over the weekend. “We met with Coach Buckley at Cook Hall and headed into Assembly Hall for the main event. After Hoosier Hysteria we stayed around to eat afterwards. Talked with Coach Crean, his wife, and the academic advisor. Then headed back home after.” During his time on campus what did he speak with the Hoosiers coaches about? “How I liked the event and how school is going mainly.” Benson discussed what impressed him about Indiana on the visit. “You can really tell how much their fans genuinely care about basketball and how the coaches stress hard work is a huge part of the program.”
  10. I never thought he would be here for awhile now even though there was mutual interest with all the visits. I think Butler and UM just had recent commits. Not that, that means anything, but they were on the top of his list at one time. Funny business here, you never know.
  11. This weekend was Goodin’s first back on the court after a hand injury sidelined him for several weeks. “I broke my hand in practice. I’m just now being able to start dribbling and shooting again,” Goodin said. “I got to shoot a little bit two or three days before this and dribble. The process is taking a while, but I’m going to be good.” Goodin, who has scholarship offers from Indiana, Oklahoma State, Northern Kentucky, Samford, Tennessee, UAB and Western Kentucky, told Inside the Hall in July that the Hoosier staff was pursuing him the hardest. Is that still the case? “Indiana’s still up there. I enjoyed Indiana,” Goodin, who has taken multiple unofficial visits to Bloomington, said. “It made me feel like I was a part of something. What coach Crean said, me being a priority, still means a lot to me.” As a freshman at Taylor County, Goodin averaged 16.1 points for a team that finished as the runner-up in Kentucky’s fifth region. His goals for his sophomore season are decidedly higher from a team and individual standpoint. “I plan on trying to go to state. We haven’t been in like 30 years,” he said. “I’m going to try to increase my game by getting my shot up higher. My coaches tell me that my shot is still a little bit low. I’m still working on it. I’m going to keep working to get it up higher.” http://www.insidethehall.com/2013/10/08/quentin-goodin-returns-from-injury-at-usa-basketball-camp/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+insidethehall+%28Inside+the+Hall+%7C+An+Indiana+Hoosiers+basketball+blog%29
  12. Jason Smith ‏@BrewsterHoops #IU is the latest school to express interest in Brewster PG @im_dat_kid_dtae. Unable to speak with him #AppSt hasn't released him #Hoosiers http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/9732835/appalachian-state-coach-jason-capel-release-devonte-graham-letter-intent WOLFEBORO, N.H. -- Appalachian State coach Jason Capel will not allow Devonte Graham to play elsewhere, and part of his refusal stems from allegations of tampering by NC State. "Devonte Graham willingly and excitedly chose to sign a national letter of intent with Appalachian State last November after having the opportunity to be recruited by 351 NCAA Division I programs," Appalachian State said in a statement Friday. "Furthermore, if he thought that a more desirable situation might arise in the future, he also had the option to wait until the late signing period in April to make his college choice." The 6-foot-1 Graham signed a binding letter of intent with Appalachian State out of Broughton High (N.C.) in November but told ESPN.com on Wednesday that he asked Capel for his release seven months ago. "I went on an official visit, loved it and loved the coaches at the time," Graham said. "But then I realized I could play at a higher level." Graham had a change of heart and asked to be released in mid-February. Capel, a former North Carolina player who is entering his fourth season as Appalachian State coach, hasn't budged, and sources told ESPN.com that the staff believes tampering occurred by N.C. State.

    (2014) WR J-Shun Harris

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - Indiana commit J-Shun Harris and his Fishers (Ind.) High teammates earned a hard-fought 17-7 victory over Zionsville (Ind.) High on the road on Friday. The future Hoosiers slot receiver finished the ball game with four receptions for 59 yards including a 37-yard touchdown to put his team up 10-0 late in the first half. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound Harris made a sweet spin move in the open field to break a defender's tackle and raced to the end zone. Feared as one of the state's top big-playmakers, Zionsville punted away from Harris all evening. Harris's ability to make things happen in the open field will give him a chance to play as a true freshman in Indiana's potent offense. In six games this fall, he's caught 33 passes for 603 yards and five touchdowns, good for over 18 yards per touch. Harris has also scored on a 71-yard punt return this season. Link

  21. http://www.insidethehall.com/2013/10/07/braxton-blackwell-picks-indiana-offer-hysteria-visit/ “I really liked the campus. The facilities are amazing,” Blackwell said. “The coaching staff is one of the best I’ve met so far. I just really could see myself being at Indiana in the future.” “The word Hysteria is an appropriate word for it as far as the fanbase,” Thomas Blackwell said. “I was really impressed with the students as far how they came in on a Friday to greet both the ladies and men’s teams, coaches and staffs.” Beyond the time at Hysteria and Memorial Stadium, the Blackwell’s stay in Bloomington, which was far more in-depth than a typical unofficial visit, also included conversations with academic advisor Marni Mooney and strength and conditioning coach Je’Ney Jackson. Academics are important to the family and was a major focus of the visit. “The academic piece was very impressive,” Thomas Blackwell said. “She (Marni) sat down with us one-on-one for at least a hour, taking us through how many majors were there and how they help the men’s basketball team as far making sure they stay on track and being a resource for them and partnering up with the head coach to make sure he knows how his players are doing.” “It was great to hear when Coach Crean said he wanted to offer me a scholarship to play for them,” Blackwell said. “Indiana comes with a lot of tradition and just to be one of the players can be, possibly at one point, keeping the tradition going, is just a blessing.”
  22. I have some good troops that help out to. Can't forget them.
