Prepare early for a meltdown!!!
Seeking6 replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If your scenario happens that would be ideal for IU. No coach wants to replace a legend. You want to be the one after the first replacement. This is all assuming if people consider Pitino a legend. -
After his coach came out last week and said his comments about IU still leading I knew we were in trouble. Coach said that so they could use the all so common they were leading but his visit blew him away comments......blah blah blah. This plan was in place all along. Tough miss for our staff given the time involved. If a kid wants to choose MSU over IU....so be it. Still plenty of talent in 2016 who would die for the chance to play not only at IU but along Bryant....whether it's a new recruit, one we've recruited already or even 5th year transfer. My funeral for this miss will be short. We have an excellent nationally ranked team. Go Hoosiers!

Zero issue with CTC tweeting these comments. Middle of July is probably when most lose their motivation to get better every hour. We never had to worry about it with Jordy/Vic/Cody.....judging by the activity of some of our players it seems calling them out publicly (or at the very least on social media) is the equivalent of a benching in 1988. Just the way it is guys.

Favorite "Wow" Moment In IU Basketball History and Recently
Seeking6 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
So many to think of. One (of many) that stands out to me was Marco Killingsworth dunk in 2005 vs #1 Duke. Thought Assembly Hall was going to explode. -
Going to be in and out of Bloomington several times this summer and was curious if anyone had stayed recently at The Pointe? Pros/Cons, opinions are welcomed on all. I'm looking at just renting a condo (furnished) for June and July. Seems much cheaper compared to hotel stays. Just wanted to get opinions from anyone who has recently stayed there. Thanks!

Appreciate the follow up. Maybe it's my pessimistic side but I keep trying to figure out if there's a catch I'm missing. I have quoted rates for $750 to $1100 per month for a furnished condo. At their website it says $25 for 18 holes for M-Thursday and $36 for Fri-Sun....$20 or $25 after 4pm each day. Given that they have restaurant and bar onsite as well. Seems to good to be true.

He's already held positions with NBA teams. Seems interested in looking at college openings. Saw on twitter this morning that Bill Self was in to see Jalen Brunson yesterday.
-
Image concerns are my least concern. Honestly our image right now is a blueblood hanging on for dear life. Kansas would make this move. We all know Kentucky would. Zeke, Daryl Thomas, Buckner even Eric Anderson...all former IU and Chicagoland stars. Make it happen Coach Crean....make him say no thanks.
-
Been advocating on Premium sites...now I'll take it public as well. Collins was trying to lure him to Northwestern last year when he was hired. To me this is a no brainer.
-
My two cents is for Rick Brunson. Former NBA player, college coach...has made it be known he wants back in. Besides his son (5 star Jalen Brunson) he is young enough to relate, has the experience at all levels....and is one of the most connected Chicagoland guys.

What should be done eventually should be done immediately
Seeking6 replied to NotTheReal HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
And this is the stuff that gets tweeted out? Good luck! -
Quentin Snider on Twitter just said Loyalty can't be bought... Maybe I'm misinterpreting...but basically implies that Illinois/Groce were a bit shady??
-
Love the final quote especially. If they miss on Cliff too....we won't have to worry about Illinois cracking the top half of Big 10 for a couple more years.
-
I'll give you the JB2 stuff but Lyles was a completely different anger. It's how and why (the unofficial KY visit, Dad seeking position) that ticked all of us so much. Either way..this thread is about celebrating a bit of Illinois angst....not what our fans did.Haha
-
Unfortunately most on Illinois boards won't realize this but losing QS is far more impactful than getting one year from Cliff. Guys like QS are program builders (Watford, Hulls mold) vs watching CA shatter a couple of dunks and leave. Either way. Today will be fun.
-
Lots of issues in play today for Illinois. Of course if they miss on Cliff and QS heads home again..the meltdown by their fans would be comparable to Gordon, Livingston recruitments....and I would love watching every bit of it.

OT: Trey Lyles Family was "Attacked" by Hoosiers
Seeking6 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This +100000000000000%. It's amazing that after having 2+ years to prepare for/how to handle their announcement ceremony the best the gang could come up with is they were attacked. If attacked you mean questioned Trey/Tom/Extreme Tan....yes...I bet you were. -
IF this happens I would love to find a way to extend a giant middle finger toward the South....and extend a personal apology to anyone in the Northern part of the state I may have offended over the last 90 days.....minus Purdue fans of course. IF this happens...I will never, never ever question our recruiting, recruiting strategy again. No matter the circumstances. Call it blind faith or whatever. IF this happens..our staff earns a giant atta boy...don't take that crap from anyone.

Halftime of Louisiana-Monroe/Troy game....approximately 845 to 9pm range.

2-3 weeks ago there was a Gator fan who messaged Robinson and said good luck at Indiana... We think you are great, best wishes,etc....and Robinson wrote back quickly about not that not being correct. Gator fan replied...oh...that's just what I heard. Glad we still have a chance...blah, blah, blah Come to find out this particular Gator fan does that with every recruit. My question is this though. Is it fair to ask a recruit (DRobb) a simple question like...Why in the world would you choose a football school to play hoops at? Or for JB Jr....Why did you string IU along if you had zero intentions of sticking with us? I have decided against asking these questions personally. But wondered what others felt? Figure this might be a good time with 3 announcements in the next 32 hours that won't go IU's way.
-
No doubt. I want to tweet him and say what in the world did you think was going to happen? All 19 Florida basketball fans can't even name their starting lineup from last year.
-
Funny to watch the # of followers on DR's account drop by the hour. Oh well...on to the next level of disappointment with 2014 recruiting.
-
Just the tea leaves talking. Timing of other visits. I know our staff said MH's verbal has nothing to do with DR...but to me the timing is a bit coincidental. Hope I'm wrong.
-
I think DR was a Florida lean before Max's decision and I think he's a stronger lean now. My guess is that IU will miss on him and end up with JL or JB Jr...or some random in the spring.

This sums my feelings up too. 6'8 shooter who can stretch the defense and create lanes for our drivers/slashers? What's the issue? Hulls was a great shooter, but criticized for his size limitations. Seems like on paper we have another great shooter coming in who is 6-7 inches taller. We'll see in 2 years if it's worth it...but on paper I'm not sure why the criticism.
