Tom Crean BIG 10 coach of the Year (CTC Appreciation Thread)!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

The team he built this year is very good. And judging by the all forward lineup he played with against Maryland we should be very good next year.

Kind of drooling at the prospect of a

Johnson or Newkirk
Blackmon
OG
Davis
Bryant

Lineup

With Morgan off the bench basically able to do anything.

Tom Crean talks about how his players adjusted and maneuvered around, often times justified, early season criticism.  Their response to the negativity was to accelerate their own improvement, each personally, and as a group, become a single unit.  Tom Crean has done the same.  He has dovetailed himself with his team and staff and looked within himself to be the best that he can be.  Congratulations!

Too lazy to look- have we ever had both men's and women's Big Ten Coach of the Year?

Nope. The only other iuwbb COY was in '83. Think this is like only the third or fourth time it's happened.

And both undefeated at home?

This was the first year for iuwbb.

Props to CTC! Great job!

CTC gets an A from me for winning an outright BIG regular season title and he and the team need not apologize for their schedule that the media often mentions. Football teams in the BIG West have a much easier schedule every year compared to those in the East, which of course, is where IU resides.

Ive been one of his harshest critics this season and in season's past. He's responded emphatically. He made changes to his game, in the middle of the season, and this team is locked in. He's well deserving of this award. I'm excited to see how this team plays in March.
