Not saying over signing is a good thing in anyway but it almost creates a good culture. With our guard depth for 2018-2019 if we get RL and DG, these guys gotta work. Playing time won’t be given to any of them as well have loads of competition. Natural Selection

As I’ve said before, the staff has more information about the roster than we do. Maybe they’re already well aware someone’s not returning for next year for whatever reason.

I disagree with this statement. I'm not sure RP is the odd man out but Garland was priority #1 at PG the whole time. RP knew from day one that he is plan B. If RP decides he wants to play right away and go someplace else he will be let out of his commitment.

If that’s the case, at least it wouldn’t be complete animosity towards Archie. If he lets Phinisee go play where he wants, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. Not compared to just kicking him to the curb. I don’t want this type of stuff every year though. But for the first class and the chance at two top 10 players, it’s worth it

IMO it wouldn't be RP leaving. He will be an important part of IU basketball going forward with or without Garland.

Garland might of been the number 1 the whole time but Archie and staff recruited RP like someone hey wanted on their team. RP was one of the first kids CAM went and saw in Indiana and as you know they tracked him very close in the April and July evaluations. There was an IU presence at everyone of his games this summer (3 at the last one). That tells me this staff wanted RP regardless of the outcome of Garland

It is possible that the kid waited until after he knew that there was a 0% chance that Garland or Romeo weren't going to be there when he is a freshman before he committed.
