• Despite a late rally by Michigan State, Indiana was able to preserve the lead to win the third and final set, 25-19.

Quotable

"Michigan State is a really good team. I thought they were physical and have always been well coached. This is the first time we have been healthy in three weeks, and it showed. Having Kari Zumachand Kaley Rammelsberg back on the court really changes the spirit of the team. We have a good ball club and have a lot of good freshmen. I am proud of this team and toughness comes in all shapes and sizes. This was tough win that we had to grind through, and I am proud of this group." – Head Coach Steve Aird

Don’t look now but, you’re wrong as usual. IU sweeps  Michigan State. Take your negativity elsewhere

I was surprisingly happy they won this game. Some teams like Purdue today they are not physically capable of beating, but if you can beat the teams like MSU towards the middle and bottom half of the Big Ten you might be able to salvage something of this season.

Hope Big Ten play wakes them up to the point where they play hard and beat the teams they can and MSU was a great start. Doesn't change the fact that losses to Bowling Green and Chicago State in pre-conference are inexcusable in Aird's fourth yr.

More uncompetitive play and more garbage/hype tweets from Coach Aird about how it is a process and how they are playing tough teams. I have news for him: The Big Ten is extremely tough and if you can't fix it and learn to compete with these teams you are not the guy to lead this program. Also, don't lose constantly and get passed by your former team in Maryland.

Every year it is worse and this is fourth season. It's enough. We blew this hire and it's hard to turn it around in an awesome Big Ten, but Aird is not going to do it. Period.

Again 4th year. Aird has shown nothing. Tough job. He is in Archie territory. Great guy but time is not going to fix this. He is not getting the job done. Need a change.

I'm torn on this.  As you've pointed out they play in an insane conference, with 6 of the top 13 ranked teams nationally.  And it's not like this is a one and done sport.  Top teams bringing in top recruiting classes every year are very stable...they are not foes that IU can leapfrog with one or two recruiting wins.   I'm disappointed too, but I'm not convinced, yet anyway, that moving away from Baird is warranted.  I'd personally give it two more years...feels like his last two classes have had higher ranked recruits and I'd like so to see them as upperclassmen.

National semis are set! Two B1G teams make it: Wisconsin (beat Minny) and Nebraska. They’ll join Pitt (beat Purdue) and Louisville in the final four and are lined up on opposite sides of the bracket. Semifinals Thursday and the championship game Saturday, all taking place in Columbus OH.
