(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

Recommended Posts

What I’m saying is that Brooks is closer to Williams than Durant. Williams was actually a good passer. 3.1 assists per 40. And yes he was turnover prone but who wasn’t in Tom Crean’s system? Durant is a once in a lifetime player. Never been a player like him in the game of basketball. Keion shows range but is inconsistent....kind of like....Troy Williams. Similar height, build, athletic ability. Both could handle the ball as a forward and rebound well. Watch a full game of Keion. Troy Williams looks like a world beater from his highlights too. What I’m ultimately getting at is that if you are expecting Keion to come in and have a Durant or Magic like impact, I’m afraid you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. I’d say we’ve had a much better version of Keion in Alan Henderson.  I love Keion and really want him in candy stripes but he’s not a program changing guy like Durant, Magic, or even Romeo Langford.  He’s the kind of guy that can be a big piece on a contender but he’s gonna need plenty of horses to run with.
I was all aboard. until the Henderson comparison.
Brooks is nothing like Henderson.
If it was Henderson and TJD maybe.TJD actually reminds me a lot of Allen.
The Brooks, Williams as a Junior thing is pretty good although I think Kelon is
already a more consistent shooter.

Yeah not very well thought out on my part. I can admit defeat.

The rest of that post was spot on though.I've never seen a player with Durant's skill set in my life until he showed up.

Texas offered Brooks within the last couple weeks and they are recruiting him as a big guard. You can bet they are selling and comparing him to Durant’s game

Which is hilarious, seeing as how no one currently affiliated with UT's basketball program was there when Durant was.

Same with every single player we have in the NBA

Interesting how that goes; much like my assessment. He’s a special talent.

Hopefully not in personality.

I digress, but LeBron has come a long, long way since coming into the league as an 18 year old and the next big thing.

My impression is that the best of the league  currently perceives LeBron James to be a great leader and a great teammate.
