Zombie/Post Apocalypse World

Recommended Posts

Alright, let's get this started!

- Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse?

- Where would you go in a post non-zombie apocalypse if it were different than with zombies?

- What weapon would you use in both? Primary and Secondary weapons.

- Describe your ideal community in the apocalypse. Would you do a Woodbury/Alexandria, prison, or find a farm/secluded home?

- Do you get a group together or survive alone?

- Initial survival strategies and ones you put off? Ex: stock pile ammo, security, resources, etc

A lot to choose from, so let's have some fun. I will get mine up in the next few days, have a lot to write :)

Lol. Love this. I'm going to assembly hall. I'll eat from the snack shops and put an Xbox linked to the big screen and a few guitars on the floor. I have put a little thought into it. I'll put a high voltage electric fence on the outside. My secondary defense is the team in a 2-3 zone. Actually, no. They can bring all the drugs and booze. They seem to be good at that.

- Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse? I'm staying in Alaska. The Z's freeze in the winter and you can walk across the snow/ice and hit them in the head with a golf club. Plus, there aren't many folks here so less zombies.

- Where would you go in a post non-zombie apocalypse if it were different than with zombies? Again, stay in Alaska. plenty of food/water/heat/shelter.

- What weapon would you use in both? Primary and Secondary weapons. Primary- AR15, Secondary-12 guage, Third- .40cal sidearm, Gerber gator machete.

- Describe your ideal community in the apocalypse. Would you do a Woodbury/Alexandria, prison, or find a farm/secluded home? SECLUDED!!!!!! you can hide. Hiding is the best defense.

I'll think on Jayboob's questions a bit and post my answers later.

More questions for discussion:

Do you try to get a group of survivors or try going it alone?

What's your strategy?  Go for supplies when they're more prevalent but everyone is panicked during the initial wave or wait for the initial wave to pass when supplies are more scarce?

Spoken like somebody who has given this some thought.

What items are on top of your list for supply runs?

fuel

ammo

firewood

vehicle parts

We are different up here in AK. Everyone pretty much has everything they need. We all raise livestock, have woodstoves for heat, have ATVs, gardens. We do need to hunt for the protein. Firewood is the most critical thing up here. Must keep the fire going in the winter.

How much wood do you go through in a year?

I just added those to the topic. So everyone's who responded, make sure and edit your posts to include the last two questions JS had that I included in my original post.

I love this topic and think about it fairly often. I've considered becoming a prepper, just not an extreme one.

- Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse? WALMART Distribution Center- All the supplies with less people.

- Where would you go in a post non-zombie apocalypse if it were different than with zombies? Closer to or further from the equator.

- What weapon would you use in both? Primary and Secondary weapons. Semi-Automatic Rifle with a 5.56 round (common, light, destructive enough to destroy the brain). Secondary would be some sort of fragmentary explosion (home made or otherwise) intended to destroy mobility. "Sweep the legs"

- Describe your ideal community in the apocalypse. Would you do a Woodbury/Alexandria, prison, or find a farm/secluded home? Suburban planned community a good distance outside of a major city- High chance of professionals (IE Doctors, engineers, etc), a population likely willing to do manual labor for their children's sake, long, open, straight streets ideal for long range defense. Close enough to a city to conduct raids, far enough away from it to avoid herds.

- Do you get a group together or survive alone? Together. I'm surrounding myself with doctors, dentists, pharmecists, engineers, manual laborers, skilled craftsmen, etc.

- Initial survival strategies and ones you put off? Ex: stock pile ammo, security, resources, etc- Secure food and water, minimize engagements with zombies, seek out skilled neighbors, friends etc.

Depends on the winter. We went through 8 cords last year. You can expect 8-12 cords per winter depending on type of wood, dryness, etc.

Do you try to get a group of survivors or try going it alone? Get a group of survivors! skilled individuals in military/hunting/medical/food preservation/construction

You would also need women/men to do labor and pull security

What's your strategy? Hang tight and wait for the herd to thin out. Then take over

Alright, let's get this started!

- Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse?  Someplace suburban, close enough for resources but far enough to limit mass groups.

- Where would you go in a post non-zombie apocalypse if it were different than with zombies?  Same

- What weapon would you use in both? Primary and Secondary weapons.  Rifle for long range defense, .22 and maybe .30-.30.  Blade for close quarters.  .22 handgun if necessary.

- Describe your ideal community in the apocalypse. Would you do a Woodbury/Alexandria, prison, or find a farm/secluded home?  Somewhere like Woodbury/Alexandria.  Not a dictatorship though, but a group of elected leaders (see below).  Rick and the group as opposed to the Governor.

- Do you get a group together or survive alone?  A group.  Safety in numbers and more hands for division of labor.  Ask them if they know any rednecks (what redneck doesn't at least have a cache of weapons?)

- Initial survival strategies and ones you put off? Ex: stock pile ammo, security, resources, etc  Wait out the initial wave of panic.  Then venture out primarily looking for water (you can survive without food longer than water) and survivors for a group, food and ammo if an easy opportunity presents itself.  Looking for another secure location depending on if I can a group and how large the group is.  Can't pass up any easy opportunities though.

A lot to choose from, so let's have some fun. I will get mine up in the next few days, have a lot to write :)

Is like to be with a bunch of others so I'm not suffering alone. Sorry guys. I'd want an assault rifle as a primary, and a baseball bat as a secondary. I'd probably want to hide in a large food pantry with about 30 others who are also armed. That way we got the resources and still are in a big area that should be locked and closed.

- Where would you go in a zombie apocalypse?
Family has a cabin, 50+ acre property w/ multiple gravel pits to fish from. White river runs through the edge of the property, and is surrounded by a fence.
- Where would you go in a post non-zombie apocalypse if it were different than with zombies?
Same
- What weapon would you use in both? Primary and Secondary weapons.
Primary - Give me an AR-15 with a suppressor and as many mags as I can carry. The use of a suppressor would limit the amount of zombies you'd attract, and the chance of your location being compromised to potential human adversaries. Secondary - While a .22 would be easy to find ammo for, It wouldn't be all that effective against humans. I think I'd prefer a 9mm, lots of ammo available, better knockdown power than a .22, while being quieter than a .40, .45, or .357.
- Describe your ideal community in the apocalypse. Would you do a Woodbury/Alexandria, prison, or find a farm/secluded home?
I think a farm/secluded home would be better because less space = smaller area to defend, and a lesser chance of being discovered by zombies or humans.
- Do you get a group together or survive alone?
Small group, 5-7 people. Enough people for adequate back up, but small enough to reasonably provide for.
- Initial survival strategies and ones you put off? Ex: stock pile ammo, security, resources, etc

First I'd find some food and water to last a few days at least, then I'd drive straight to my uncles house, he is an ER doctor with 2 safes full of guns.
