We're at 14 now without Troy and JBJ's decisions right? I can't see us adding another guard...

Correct, we are currently oversigned by one, with two NBA decisions pending. Seems odd that we're still looking at another player unless both Troy and JBJ are hiring agents, or at least one is and someone is transferring.

Agree, this seems very odd and it could hurt our pursuit of Paul Scruggs as well. Coming in to battle w Fisher, Newkirk, RoJo, Cujo, green and potentially JBJ as well as Gelon for guard play seems a bit over crowded. I say hold off on this kid if we have a real shot at Scruggs, which it seems like that shot is very good at the moment.

Well IMO there are a few players/prospects on IU's roster that aren't anywhere near the level of even being the 13th man at IU or even at a mid major program.

None of these guys are going to scare off or play over a talent like Scruggs.

Jaylen Fisher is a good talent that would be a good backup early on that would develop into a starter as an upperclassman.

Devonte Green is IMO a good depth prospect that can handle the ball and shoot but nothing more than a role player early on who could develop into a good backup PG.

From the people I've talked to say Gelon just isn't at the level to play at IU and he's never going to play as a 1 or a 2.  If he makes at IU he's going to be a shooter off the bench at the 3.

IU is going to play small and fast with a ton a shooters and scorers for quite some time and some of these 3s are going to see time at the 4 to allow guys like JBJ, RoJo and CuJo to see as much playing time as possible.

How do you think that will further impact the relationships between Indiana aau coaches and Crean? I say if you offer a kid a scholly and he accepts it, you sleep in the bed you made, IMHO.

Ethically, this would probably be the right decision. But Gelon used to be a Duke fan so who cares?

His quote about TCU investing in MBB is interesting

My guess is he's talking about hiring a real, established coach like Dixon, and in turn I'm guessing Dixon wanted certain investments made in the program for him to come.

Edit: By investments i don't mean paying recruits, I mean things like upgrading facilities, paying assistants, etc.

That was my take as well.
