2016 - Who Are You Hoping For?

Recommended Posts

Alright...let's play. The rules are:

1)  Fill up to six slots (Yogi, NickZ, MaxB, Troy, JBJ, Open Slot)

2)  Fill regardless of position; but keep in mind who's likely to be left after our required departures.

3)  Make room for the national and nearby choices.

4)  Allow for chemistry.

5) Rank your choices in order of preference.

6) Obtainable choices (within reason) please!

7)  Don't run with scissors.

I'll try first:

1) Thon. Nuff said, and he would likely bring his 'lil bro with him.

2) Rawle Alkins. Offensive focal point.

3) Bruce Brown. Super, super tough young man.

4) Curtis Jones. Need some outside shooting.

5) DeRon Davis. Watford + 2 inches of height.

6) Grant Gelon. Need lots of shooting with Yogi, Nick, and JBJ departing. Let's add a local that can snipe the 3ball.

Honorable mention: Miles Bridges. If we stand a chance he rates top three on this list.

1. Rawle Alkins. Man he looks tough.
2. Der'on Davis. Good 4/5 player in the future.
3. Curtis Jones. Need a good scoring PG.
4. Eli Wright. Would love a Kentucky player to help the Hoosiers win.
5. Grant Gelon-Local catch and shoot player. Could be another Zeisloft.
6. Lamar Stevens. Fits the Crean mold for a wing.

Optimal with a hint of reality...

1) Rawle Alkins

2) De'ron Davis

3) Kameron McGusty

4) Lamar Stevens

5) Bruce Brown

6) Kassoum Yakwe

That would be an epic pull.

I am curious: With Yogi all done, why do you think Carr is the only true PG we seem to be putting a full effort towards for 2016?

Probably. IU is putting the effort in with De'Aaron Fox but that may be a lost cause. I think they've Chuck is looking around at Aaron Walker out of NY but not sure he is B10 caliber. CuJo/ Brown could develop into 1's but in terms of your question, pure PG's that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I may be missing some

Looks like Bridges cut to his top 5 today. IU is included!

I know it doesn't happen very often but Id be fine staying with this group and saving some room for 2017 because there are way too many top prospects with Indiana connections and I don't want to lose out on them. I think a class of the four I listed could easily be the best class we've ever had and all four could start as freshman. Thon and Rawle are absolute starters and Davis and Brown could definitely start a few games here and there

Should add Lamar Stevens to my "most wanted" list.

Plays like he's angry at the other team.

High character young man.

Wants to know what IUBB is all about.

Best buddies with Tony Carr.

Pap's list, with Carr in Alkins's place, has a real element of realism.
