So, the pick from Denver is the worst pick from among OKC, Utah, Houston and the Clippers and isn’t lottery protected. That makes sense.

Don't get it at all either unless the Pacers project the 2024 class to be a lot better than the 2023 class.  They also traded the 40th pick to the Lakers for the 47th pick and $4.3 million.

Only thing I can think of is the Pacers had an untenable situation with the glut of picks they had -- initially had 7, 26, 29, 32, and 55.  Just don't know why they wouldn't try to package the 29 and 32 picks for a pick around 20 or so instead of the 40 and one likely to be in the late 20s next year.

That pick next year will more than likely be in the early 20's. It is not Denver's pick we are getting but the one they got from OKC.  That pick has been traded a lot and has stipulations on it. We get the pick from the team who finishes with the best record from Houston, Utah, OKC or the Clippers.

Showed this picture to my wife, who cares nothing for basketball, and asked her who she thought the 1st pick in the draft might be. She just started laughing.

4 year old said “Dad, look how short that guy (Adam Silver who is like 6’3) is!” when he got up on stage.

2 2nd rounders! Lol. We just told the Wiz we were taking Coulibaly and they fell for it.

Pacers got the guy they wanted.  The second picks are 2028 picks, so kind of minimal in that regard.  Still a positive trade to get something for just drafting a player and waiting one pick to get the guy you wanted.

Still not happy with the trades that occurred prior to it, though -- end up getting a late 20s pick in 2024, the 47th pick this year and some cash for the 29th and 32nd pick this season.  Doesn't seem equal at all.

I don’t think they’re done making moves. I could see someone going with that new 1st +26 to get back into the lottery.
