Tevin Coleman - New York Jets

Recommended Posts

Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Tevin Coleman looks like he will be able to play sooner than expected despite a fractured rib. Since Coleman's rib is not displaced, it's not a threat to puncture his lung. The only real concern for the rookie is whether he can deal with the pain. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the team has several options for reducing Coleman's pain as he continues to heal over the next four to six weeks. If Coleman can tolerate the pain and breathe without limitation, he should be able to return before his rib is completely healed. In the meantime, Devonta Freeman will move back into the starting role for the Falcons. Freeman has struggled in a backup role this season, and he isn't likely to have a breakout performance this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys' dominant run defense.
